How to set up a record of phone conversations on Xiaomi: all the ways

Recording phone conversations on Xiaomi smartphones is a useful feature that can be useful for saving important conversations, evidence, or just for personal notes. However, not all users are aware that modern versions of MIUI (especially 14 and 15) have hidden this option in the depth of settings, and in some regions it is completely disabled for legal reasons. Checking for Call Recording Support in Your MIUI Version

Before you try to turn on recording, make sure your firmware supports this feature at all. Instructions for MIUI 14/15:

1. Open the Phone app.
2. Enter the combination: ##6484## (some models run ##646##).
3. In the menu that appears, find Call Recording (or Call Recording).
4. Activate the switch and save the settings.

If the code doesn’t work, try an alternative method:

• 🔍 In the search, type in CallSettings or CallRecord.
• 🛠️ Find a hidden activity with a name that contains Recording and run it.
• ⚙️ Enable the record and select the save format (e.g..amr or.mp3).

3. At the end of the conversation, the file will automatically be saved to the Recorder → Call Records.

Limitations of the method:

• 🚫 No automatic recording – you need to manually turn on each time.
• 📢 In some countries (EU, USA) the application notifies the interlocutor about the recording.

Before you turn on automatic recording, read the laws of your country. Most regions have the following rules:
