Why is the forwarding notification appearing and can it be turned off?
If you own a Xiaomi smartphone (or sub-brands) Redmi/POCO), I'm sure you've seen a pesky pop-up saying, "Call forwarding is active." This system notification appears every time you turn on your phone, change your phone. SIM-The reason is simple: Call settings activate the function to redirect incoming calls to another number, even if you haven't set it up.
The manufacturer added this notice to MIUI as "user care": you may have accidentally turned on a redirect and now miss important calls. But in practice, it's annoying, especially if the redirect is set up consciously (like a work number), and fortunately, you can remove this notification in a number of ways, from basic to "surgical."
It's important to understand that the notification itself and the forwarding function are different things: if you turn off the alert, you don't deactivate the forwarding itself! If you need it (for example, for a business line), you just need to hide the pop-up. If the forwarding of calls is triggered by accident, it can also be turned off in 2 minutes.
Method 1: Disable call forwarding through phone settings
The logical step is to check if the redirect is active at all, and often the notification is due to a malfunction. SIM-maps or after updating MIUI, It's disabled, but here's how to do it:
- Open the phone application (pipe icon).
- Click on the three dots in the upper right corner β select Settings.
- Go to Call Redirection (or Additional β Redirect on older versions of MIUI).
- Check the status for each type of call: π Always redirect - if there's a number, it needs to be removed. π΅ If unavailable, activates when the phone is off or offline. β³ If there is no answer, it works after 15-30 second-of-action. π΄ If busy, it redirects the call if you are talking to another number.
Click on the active item β select Disable.
If all points are already disabled, but the notification continues to appear, then the problem lies deeper, perhaps the redirect is activated at the operator level (more on this in the next way).

Method 2: USSD-codes to disable forwarding from the operator
Sometimes redirects are turned on not in the phone, but on the part of the mobile operator (for example, when connecting the service "Secretary" or "Redirect to voice mail"). In this case, the MIUI settings are powerless - you need to turn off the function through special commands.
Take it. SIM-The card for which the notification appears and follow the following steps:
- Open the Phone application and go to the Keyboard tab.
- Enter one of them. USSD-Codes depending on the type of redirect: Redirect Type Code to disable Operator All kinds ##002# Any If not available #62# MTS, Beeline, Tele2 If no response ##61# Megaphone, Yota If occupied #67# All operators
- Press the call button (green tube).
- Wait. SMS-response from the operator with confirmation of disconnection.
If you typed in the #002# code and you got a message saying, "All forwarding services are disabled," but the notification in Xiaomi is still there, the problem is the firmware. Go to method 4.
π‘
Save it. USSD-codes in phone notes β they will come in handy if the redirect turns on again after the update MIUI.
Method 3: Reset network settings (if previous methods failed)
Sometimes the forwarding notification gets stuck in the system due to a failure in the communication module, in which case the reset of network settings helps - it is safe and does not affect personal data (photos, contacts, messages).
How to perform the reset:
- Open the Settings. β SIM-maps and mobile networks.
- Choose yours. SIM-card (if there are several).
- Scroll down and click Network Settings Reset (or APN Reset on older versions of MIUI).
- Confirm the action. The phone will reboot.
β οΈ Note: If you are using duality SIM-The reset must be done for each individual and after the procedure, the operator's services (e.g. unlimited packets) may need to be re-activated).
Method 4: Disable notifications via MIUI Hidden Settings (for advanced)
If you need a redirect but the notification is annoying, you can turn it off via hidden MIUI settings. This method works on MIUI 12-14 firmware, but requires caution.
Instructions:
- Activate Developer Mode: Go to Settings β About Phone. 7 times click on the MIUI version (you will be a developer message).
Back to Settings β Additionally. β For developers.
Turn on the USB Debugging Switch (not necessary to connect the cable).
Install the MIUI Hidden Settings app from Google Play (or APKCombo for devices without Google services).
Open the app and go to System UI Tuner β Notification Log.
Find a redirect notification in the log (see βCall Forwardingβ or βRedirectingβ).
Click on it β select Block (Block).
Importantly, this method may not work after the MIUI update, as hidden settings often change, and blocking notifications via Hidden Settings sometimes leads to system alerts (for example, low battery power).
What if MIUI Hidden Settings is not working?
Method 5: Manually edit the settings file (for power users only)
If none of these methods worked, then there's "heavy artillery," which is editing the system file that handles the notifications, which requires root rights and is only suitable for users willing to risk the stability of the system.
Step-by-step:
- Install a root access explorer (such as Root Explorer or FX File Manager).
- Go to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/
- Find the telephony.db file and back it up (copy it elsewhere).
- Open the file in a text editor (e.g. SQLite Editor).
- Find the table. carrier_config and delete the parameter line show_call_forwarding_notification=1.
- Save the changes, restart the phone.
β οΈ Warning: Incorrect editing of system files can lead to network loss, call failures or even a phone "brick".If you are not sure about your actions, contact the Xiaomi service center.
If the notification disappears after editing the file, but there are problems with communication (for example, incoming calls are not detected), return the backup of telephony.db backup.

Editing system files is the last resort, and 90% of the time, the first 3 (phone settings) are helpful, USSD-codes, resetting the network).
