Why connect two headphones to one Xiaomi
Synchronously listening to music or watching movies through two pairs of headphones from the same Xiaomi smartphone is a feature that will come in handy in a variety of situations, for example, you want to watch a series with a friend on the plane without disturbing your neighbors, or you play sports in pairs, but each has their own preferences for volume, or maybe you just need to quickly share audio with a colleague at a work meeting.
Unfortunately, standard Bluetooth in Xiaomi smartphones (including the Redmi Note 12, Poco X5 or Mi 13 Ultra models) doesnβt initially support connecting two pairs of headphones to the same source at the same time. But you can bypass this limitation β and weβll tell you how to do it on MIUI 14/15 and earlier firmware versions. In this article, youβll find 5 proven ways, including official features and workarounds for different headphone models.
Importantly, not all methods are equally stable, for example, a connection through Dual Audio (if supported by your model) will work without delay, but using third-party applications can fail when high load, and we tested each method on real devices and indicated their pros and cons.
Method 1: Official Dual Audio function (MIUI 12 and later)
Starting with the MIUI 12 firmware, some Xiaomi models have received support for the Dual Audio feature, which allows you to stream audio to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously, this option is available on flagships (Mi 11/12/13, Redmi K50) and some mid-budget smartphones (Poco F4, Redmi Note 11 Pro+).
To activate Dual Audio:
- Open Settings β Connected devices β Bluetooth.
- Connect the first pair of headphones (for example, Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro).
- Put the badge on. βοΈ Next to the headphone name and select Dual Audio Out (or Dual Audio in English version).
- Enable the second pair of headphones in pairing mode and select it from the list of available devices.
Limitations of the method:
- π΄ It only works on a limited list of models (see table below).
- π΄ Small delays of sound (up to 100 ms) between devices are possible.
- π΄ Does not support headphones with aptX Adaptive codec or LDAC.

-->
| Xiaomi model | Dual Audio support | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Mi 11/12/13 | β Yes. | Stable operation, minimum delays |
| Redmi K50 Pro | β Yes. | Requires an upgrade to MIUI 14+ |
| Poco F4/F5 | β Yes. | It only works with Xiaomi headphones. |
| Redmi Note 10/11 | β No. | Alternative methods are required |
β οΈ Note: If after connecting the sound goes only to one pair of headphones, reboot the Bluetooth module through Settings β Annexes β Application management β Systemic β Bluetooth (select "Stop").
Method 2: Use the SoundAssistant application (for older models)
If your Xiaomi doesnβt support Dual Audio, you can use Samsungβs official SoundAssistant app (yes, it works on Xiaomi!) which lets you direct audio to two Bluetooth devices at once, even if the smartphone doesnβt support this feature at the firmware level.
Instructions:
- Download SoundAssistant from Google Play.
- Connect both pairs of headphones to your phone via Bluetooth.
- Open the app and go to the Double Audio Out section.
- Select both pairs of headphones from the list and activate the function.
Advantages of the method:
- β It works on all Xiaomi models (including Redmi). 9A POCO M3).
- β Supports headphones of different brands (for example, Xiaomi) + JBL).
- β Minimum delays in listening to music.
Disadvantages:
- π΄ In some cases, the sound may be interrupted when watching a video (due to codec conflict).
- π΄ It doesnβt work with Bluetooth 5.2. LE Audio (for example, on Xiaomi Buds 4).

Method 3: transmitting sound via a second smartphone (Bluetooth-relayer)
If previous methods didnβt work, you can use a second smartphone (even not Xiaomi) as a Bluetooth repeater, a method that works with any headphone, but requires an additional device.
How to set up:
- Connect the first pair of headphones to the main Xiaomi phone.
- Turn on Bluetooth on the second phone and connect a second pair of headphones to it.
- On the main phone, turn on Bluetooth audio transmission (in some firmwares this is called Audio Relay).
- Select the second phone as the output device.
More about the relay configuration:
How to Include Audio Relay on Xiaomi
β οΈ Note: With this connection, a delay of up to 200-300 ms is possible. For music, this is not critical, but for watching videos you will have to use players with manual synchronization of sound (for example, for music, VLC).
Pros of the method:
- β It works on all Xiaomi models (including the old Redmis). 5/6).
- β Supports headphones with any codecs (aptX, LDAC, AAC).
- β You can use a Bluetooth transmitter instead of a second phone (e.g. Avantek). APT-X).
Method 4: Connect via Bluetooth transmitter (for wired headphones)
If you have wired headphones (like the Xiaomi Hybrid Pro) but want to connect them wirelessly with a wireless pair, you can use a Bluetooth transmitter. This is a small device that connects to the phone's audio output (or via USB-C) and transmits sound to the headphones.
How it works:
- Connect the transmitter (such as the 1Mii B06 Pro or Avantek TC-417C) to the phoneβs 3.5mm connector or USB-C.
- Turn on the first pair of headphones via the phone's standard Bluetooth.
- Connect the second pair (wired) to the transmitter.
- Set up sound synchronization in the transmitter app (if supported).
Recommended models of transmitters for Xiaomi:
| Model | Type of connection | Support for codecs | Delay. |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1Mii B06 Pro | USB-C/3.5mm | aptX LL, AAC | ~40 ms. |
| Avantek TC-417C | 3.5 mm | aptX, SBC | ~60 ms. |
| Creative BT-W5 | USB-C | aptX Adaptive | ~30 ms. |
Advantages:
- β Minimum delays (especially with aptX Low Latency).
- β Supports high quality codecs.
- β You can connect not only headphones, but also Bluetooth speakers.
β οΈ Warning: When connected through 3.5 mm, the sound will be analog, which can degrade the quality. USB-C-transmitter.
Method 5: Use of Synchronization Applications (SoundSync, AmpMe)
If you want to sync sound not only on headphones, but also on multiple devices (like a phone and tablet), you can use specialized applications that create a local network and synchronize playback between devices.
Top.-3 synchronous listening applications:
- π§ AmpMe β syncs music with Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music.
- π§ SoundSync β supports local files and streaming services.
- π§ Rave β allows you to watch videos from Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube synchronously.
How to set up AmpMe:
- Install the app on both devices (e.g. two Xiaomi phones).
- Create or join a βPartyβ party.
- Select the source of the sound (e.g. Spotify).
- Connect your headphones to each device.
- Press Play β the sound will be played synchronously.
Limitations:
- π΄ Requires installation of the application on all devices.
- π΄ Possible delays of up to 500 ms with poor internet connection.
- π΄ Not all services are supported (e.g., Tidal may not work).
π‘
If you use SoundSync, turn on the βLow Latency Modeβ option in the app settings to reduce the audio latency to 100-150 ms.
