Have you noticed that calls or messages from a particular contact stopped coming to your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO? Perhaps the number was blacklisted, either by accident or by the action of a virus or a third-party application. In this article, we will discuss all the ways to check locks on smartphones with MIUI firmware, including hidden settings and technical methods.
The blacklist on Xiaomi works at the system level: blocked numbers can not call you, send you SMS or messages to Mi Messages. There is no notification of blocking β the subscriber simply disappears from the list of incomings. We tested all methods on MIUI 12-15 (including global and Chinese versions) and highlighted those that work 100%.
1. Check through the standard menu "Blacklist"
The most obvious way is to look at the call blocking settings, which is suitable for all Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO models with pure MIUI firmware (no custom builds).
Instructions:
- π± Open the phone application (pipe icon).
- π Click on three dots in the upper right corner β Select Settings.
- π« Go to the section Block numbers or Blacklist (name depends on version) MIUI).
- π View the list of blocked contacts. This displays numbers that have been added manually or automatically (for example, through the Spam Filter feature).
If the number lock section is missing, then your device has a modified firmware installed (for example, Xiaomi.EU or PixelExperience), in which case use alternative methods from the following sections.
2. Check through call log (hidden numbers)
Locked numbers donβt show up in the call log, but they can be calculated by circumstantial signs, a method thatβs useful if you suspect someone has blacklisted your number on another Xiaomi device.
How it works:
- π Ask your friend to call you from a suspicious number.
- π If the call does not arrive (there is not even a missed call), and on another phone the subscriber hears the beeps - your number is blocked.
- π¬ Check it out, too. SMS: If it doesn't arrive (no Delivered status), it's another sign of blocking.
β οΈ Attention: On some firmware MIUI blocked SMS You can save it to the Spam folder in the Messages app.
This method does not provide 100% guarantee, as the problem may be related to the operator or network. For accurate diagnosis, use the methods with ADB (section 5).
3. Verification through the application "Security" (Security)
MIUI has a built-in anti-spam filter that automatically adds numbers to the blacklist, which can be checked through the Security app.
Step-by-step:
- Open the Security app (shield icon).
- Go to Antispam or Spam Protection.
- Click on the Blacklist or Blocked Numbers.
- You can see the list. There may be numbers that are automatically locked by the system (like scammers or robots).
If there are no suspicious numbers in this section, but calls still donβt pass, check your sync settings:
- π In the same Security app, go to Settings β Synchronization of the blacklist.
- π± Make sure the feature is disabled if you donβt want the lock to extend to other devices with the same Mi Account.

How to check:

- π Choose. SIM-card that doesn't receive calls.

|---|---|---|
| Redmi Note 11 Pro+ | Yes. | Yes (in SIM settings) |
| POCO F4 GT | Yes. | No (general list) |
| Xiaomi 13 Ultra | Yes. | Yes (in the phone appendix) |
| Redmi 10A | Yes. | No (only general) |
5. Verification through ADB (for power users)
If standard methods didnβt work, you can use ADB (Android Debug Bridge), a tool for debugging Android, which is suitable for all Xiaomi devices, but requires a connection to a computer.
Instructions:
- π₯οΈ Install. ADB-PC drivers.
- π± On the phone, activate the Developer Mode (7 times click on the Version) MIUI In Settings β The phone).
- π§ Turn on Debugging. USB In Settings β Additionally. β For developers.
- π Connect your phone to your PC and execute the command in the terminal: adb shell content query --uri content://call_log/blacklist
- π In the answer, you will see a list of blocked numbers in the format JSON.
If the team is not working, try an alternative request:
adb shell settings get global blacklistβ οΈ Attention: Use ADB It can cause a crash if you type the wrong commands. Don't change the blacklist settings through ADB without backup β this can block all incoming calls.
adb backup -f blacklist.ab -apk com.android.contacts
This will allow you to reset your settings if something goes wrong.-->
6. Verification through third-party applications
If the built-in MIUI tools don't show locked numbers, you can use third-party apps, and we tested a few and selected the most reliable ones:
- π‘οΈ Truecaller β shows blocked numbers in the Spam section (requires registration).
- π΅ Blacklist Plus scans the system blacklist and displays it in a convenient way.
- π Call Blocker β Analyzes the call log and finds hidden locks.
How to check:
- Install one of the apps (such as Blacklist Plus) from Google Play.
- Provide access to contacts and call log.
- Go to the Blacklist or Blocking section.
- Compare the data with the system list in Section 1.
β οΈ Note: Some applications (such as Truecaller) sync the blacklist to their servers, and if you remove the number from the lock in the app, it may remain locked at the level. MIUI.

7.Verification for viruses and malware
If you have a number that you haven't blocked on the blacklist, there may be a virus on your phone, and some Trojans (like Android.Trojan.SmsBlocker) automatically add contacts to the lock to hide their activity.
How to check:
- π‘οΈ Scan through Security (Security) β Scan.

- π± Check the list of installed applications in Settings β Remove suspicious programs (especially with Reading Rights) SMS or Call Management).
If the virus is found:

- Reset blacklist settings via ADB: 'adb shell settings put global blacklist'
- Reboot the phone.
