Locked numbers on Xiaomi smartphones can accumulate for years, from annoying spammers to former colleagues. But when you need to remember who exactly you added to the blacklist, the standard MIUI settings are not always obvious. Unlike an iPhone or Samsung, where the lock list hides in the depths of the menu, there are several ways to find it on Xiaomi - and not all of them are intuitive.

In this article, we will discuss all the current methods of viewing blocked contacts on Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO devices (including models from 2023-2026 on MIUI 14), also explain how to distinguish between locks at the system level, Google account and mobile operator – and why sometimes a number may not appear in the list, despite active lock.

📊 How often do you block numbers on your smartphone?
Every week.
Once a month
Only spam.
Never blocked.

Where is the blacklist on Xiaomi stored: key points

Before looking for locked numbers, it’s important to understand where exactly they are saved. Xiaomi smartphones have three levels of locks:

  • 📱 Local blacklist MIUI — It's stored in the phone's memory, linked to the user profile, reset when you reset your settings.
  • ☁️ Google Contacts – if sync is enabled, the locks can be duplicated in the cloud.
  • 📡 Operator lock – some mobile operators (such as MTS or Beeline) offer their own spam blocking services.

Xiaomi uses a local blacklist by default, but if you’ve ever set up sync with Google, some numbers may have gone to the cloud, and it’s also worth remembering that some apps (like Truecaller or GetContact) have their own lock lists that don’t overlap with the system.

⚠️ Note: If you have recently updated MIUI Before version 14, the lock menu may have changed (MIUI 12 and below) the list was hidden in the “Contacts”, and in the new – moved to the application “Phone».

Method 1: through the standard Phone application (MIUI 13–14)

This is the main and most reliable way for modern Xiaomi smartphones. Instructions are suitable for Xiaomi 13/14, Redmi Note 12/13, POCO F5/X5 and other devices on MIUI 13-14.

  1. Open the phone application (pipe icon).
  2. Tap on three points (⋮) in the upper right corner and select Settings.
  3. Go to the Blocking Numbers section (or the Blacklist in some firmware).
  4. Here you will see a complete list of blocked contacts, and you can edit, unlock or add new ones.

If you have a double SIM-map, locks can be duplicated for each card separately. To see all the numbers, switch between SIM top-of-screen.

Application opens"|Three points pressed (⋮) top-up|Selected item “Locking of numbers"|Checked both. SIM-cards (if any)-->

On some models (e.g. Xiaomi) 12T) The path may be different: Telephone → Journal → ⋮ → Settings → If you can't find the section, try the alternative method below.

Method 2: Contact (for MIUI 12 and older)

In older firmware versions (MIUI 12 and below), the list of locked numbers was hidden in the Contacts app, which can also work if you have custom firmware or a modified MIUI.

  1. Open the Contacts app (an icon with a person’s silhouette).
  2. Tap on three lines (☰) in the upper left corner and select Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the section Blocking Numbers or Blacklist.
  4. This will show all the blocked contacts. To delete the number, click on it and select Unblock.

If there is no such section in Contacts, then your version of MIUI uses a different method (see Method 1). Also check if the item is hidden behind additional settings - sometimes it hides under Additional or Contact Management.

💡

If you can not find the block section, try to enter the search for the phone settings request "blacklist" - the system will tell you the right way.

Method 3: Check in Google Contacts (if sync is enabled)

If your Xiaomi has Google contacts sync enabled, some of the blocked numbers may have gone to the cloud, especially if you’ve used other Android devices before or change phones frequently.

To check the blocking in Google Contacts:

  1. Open your browser and go to contacts.google.com (sign up under your account).
  2. On the left menu, select More → Settings → Blocked numbers.
  3. This will show all the numbers that are blocked through Google, and they can be unlocked or exported.

Note that MIUI system locks and Google locks are different lists. A number locked through Phone on Xiaomi won't necessarily appear in Google Contacts, and vice versa. To sync them, you need to manually add numbers to both lists.

⚠️ Note: If you delete the number from Google Contacts, but leave it in the lock MIUI, Calls from this number will still be blocked at phone level. To fully unlock the contact, check both lists.

How to find hidden locks (operator/applications)

Sometimes a number doesn't show up on the standard lock lists, but calls don't go through anyway, and this can happen for two reasons:

  1. Operator lock – some mobile operators (e.g. Tele2 or Yota) offer spam protection services that operate at a level of security. SIM-map.
  2. Blocking with third-party apps – programs like Truecaller, Kaspersky Safe Kids, or GetContact can keep their own blacklists.

To check the operator lock:

  • 📞 Call your operator’s short number (e.g. *111# for MTS or *105# for Beeline).
  • 🔍 In your personal account on the operator's website, find the section "Spam Protection" or "Black List».
  • 📄 Order call details – sometimes blocked numbers are displayed there marked “Discarded».

To check blocking by third-party applications:

  • 🔍 Open the settings of each application associated with calls (for example, Truecaller). → Settings → Lockdown).
  • 📱 Check the “Special Permissions” section in Android settings: Settings → Annexes → Permits → Locking down calls.
  • 🔄 Restart your phone in Safe Mode (press the power button) → «Safe Mode. If the locking is also triggered in this mode, it is the system software, not the third-party application, that is to blame.
How to disable the lock in Truecaller?
1. Open the Truecaller app. 2. Go to Settings → Lock. 3. In the Blacklist section, delete unnecessary numbers or turn off the Block Spam option. 4. Go back to the basic settings and turn off Autolock (if not necessary).

Managing a blacklist: Adding, deleting, exporting

Viewing locked numbers is only half the battle, and often you need to edit the list: add new contacts, delete outdated ones, or transfer them to another device.

How to Add a Number to a Blacklist

  • 📞 From the call log: open the phone, find the number in the magazine, tap on it → «Lock down».
  • 👤 From Contacts: Open Contact → «More» (⋮) → «Lock down».
  • ➕ Manual: Go to the phone → Settings → Number locking → Add and enter a number.

How to remove a number from the blacklist

  • 🗑️ Open the block list (see Method 1 or Method 2).
  • 👆 Swipe your finger to the left of the number (or tap it on it).
  • ✅ Click "Unlock" or the basket icon.

How to export/import a blacklist

MIUI does not offer direct export of locks, but there are workarounds:

  1. Through Google Contacts: If a number is blocked on Google, it will automatically sync with other devices.
  2. Through backup: backup your MIUI settings (Settings → About Phone → Backup) – the locks will be saved in the archive.
  3. Manual: Copy numbers from the block list into a text file (for example, through a screenshot or screen recording).

💡

If you change phones frequently, use Google Contacts to lock your phone, so the list will automatically be transferred to the new device.

Frequent problems and mistakes when working with the blacklist

Even in MIUI 14, users are faced with bugs and non-obvious issues when managing locks.

1.The number is locked, but calls are making

Possible causes:

  • 🔄 The number is locked for only one. SIM-Cards (check the second one).
  • 📱 The lock worked at the application level (e.g. Truecaller), but not at the system level.
  • 🔄 After updating MIUI Settings are reset (try restarting your phone).

2.I can't find the "number lock" section.

Decisions:

  • 🔍 Check the version. MIUI: In the old firmware section was called "Black List».
  • 🔄 Update the Phone app via Google Play.
  • 📱 Install an alternative call (like Google Phone) where locks are easier to manage.

3.After the phone was dropped, the locks are missing

This is normal behavior -- local MIUI locks are not stored when reset, so you don't lose:

  • ☁️ Use the blocking through Google Contacts.
  • 📱 Regularly back up your settings MIUI.
  • 📝 Keep a separate list of blocked numbers in notes.

4. The locking is unstable (it blocks, then not)

This is most often related to:

  • 🔋 Battery Optimization (disable optimization for the Phone app»).
  • 📡 Bad signal network (try switching to the network) 4G/LTE).
  • 🔄 Application Conflict (check in Settings) → Annexes → Permits → Locking down calls).

💡

If the lock is triggered by accident (for example, for an important number), check the call log for missed calls marked "Blocked".

FAQ: questions about the number lock on Xiaomi

Can I block the number so that it cannot leave a voice message?
Yes, but it depends on the operator. In MIUI, the lock only turns off calls and SMS, and voicemail is managed on the mobile operator side. To completely block contact, turn off voicemail in the operator's personal account or call for support.
How to block all numbers from an unknown ID (for example, "Hidden Number")?
There is no such feature in standard MIUI settings, but you can use workarounds: Install Truecaller and enable the option “Block Hidden Numbers”. Contact the operator - some offer an anonymous call blocking service (for example, MTS code *367*1#).
Why can the number still send SMS after blocking?
V MIUI The default lock only turns off calls. SMS: Open the Messages app. Find a dialog with a number, tap three dots (⋮) → «Please note: lock. SMS and calls are managed separately.
Can I recover the lock list after resetting my phone?
If you have a MIUI backup enabled (in the cloud or on your computer), restore it via Settings → About Phone → Backup. If there is no backup, the list is lost forever - MIUI does not sync locks with your Xiaomi or Google account (unless you manually add numbers to Google Contacts).
How to block a number on Xiaomi, if it calls from different SIM-map?
If the spammer uses multiple numbers, you can: Add each number to the blacklist manually; use applications like Truecaller that block entire ranges of numbers (for example, all numbers with the code +375); contact the operator to block the range (not all operators provide this service).
