How to view the history of calls to Xiaomi Redmi: 5 working ways

Why do I need a call history and where it is stored?

Every Xiaomi Redmi owner will have to look through a list of incoming, outgoing, or missed calls. Call history is not just a contact log, but a full-fledged tool for analyzing communication, recovering important numbers, and even proving in controversial situations. Unlike messages that can be archived or deleted in bundles, call records often go unnoticed until urgently needed.

All call data on Redmi is stored in the Phone system app (or Calls in newer versions of MIUI), but it's not only there, it's duplicated in the Mi Cloud service, backups, and even some third-party applications like Google Contacts. The key is knowing where and how to extract it. In this article, we'll look at all possible ways, including hidden features and workarounds for recovering deleted records.

Method 1: Standard application "Phone"

The most obvious and quickest method is to use the built-in Phone app, which is on all Redmi models, from the budget Redmi 9A to the flagship Redmi K60 Pro, and works equally regardless of the MIUI version.

1. Click on the green phone icon on the home screen or in the app menu.
2. Go to the Journal tab (usually located at the bottom of the center).
3. Scroll the list up or down to find the right call.

By default, all types of calls are displayed here: incoming (down arrow), outgoing (up arrow) and missed (red icon). If the list is too long, search:

• 🔍 Search by number or name: tap on the magnifying glass in the upper right corner and enter the request.
• 📅 Filter by date: in new versions MIUI You can sort calls by day/week.
• 📞 Quick Return: Swipe left on the record to call again.

Method 2: Through Mi Cloud (Xiaomi Cloud Storage)

If you lose your phone or accidentally delete your call history, you can recover it from Xiaomi’s Mi Cloud service.

1. Open your Settings → Xiaomi Account → Mi Cloud.
2. Make sure that the Call Sync function is enabled (if not, turn on and wait 5-10 minutes).
3. Go to i.mi.com from a computer or other device.
4. Sign in with the same Mi Account as Redmi.
5. Select the Calls section – here will be the full story for the last month (or longer if Advanced Sync is enabled).

Important: Mi Cloud only stores call data if sync is enabled before you delete it, and if you never activate it, you can't recover records through the cloud.

If Mi Cloud doesn't have the right records, try to restore them through Google Contacts. Go to contacts.google.com, select "More → Reconnect" and specify a date when the calls were still in history. This method only works if you used Google's account as your primary sync.

Method 3: Export history to file (for backup)

So to keep important records intact, you can export them to a file, which is useful for record keeping, litigation, or simple archiving. Redmi has two ways of exporting them:

Method 1: Through the Contact Application

1. Open Contacts (the icon with the man).
2. Slip on three points in the upper right corner → Contact management.
3. Select Import/Export → Export to the vault.
4. Specify the format (.vcf or.csv) and confirm the export.

Method 2: Through MIUI Backup

1. Go to Settings → About Phone → Backup.
2. Select Local Backup.
3. Check the “Calls” box and start the process.
4. The backup file will be saved in the MIUI/backup/AllBackup folder.

Exported data can be opened on your computer using Excel, Google Sheets or specialized programs for working with.vcf files. Please note that in some versions of MIUI, the export of calls can be combined with contacts, in which case you will have to manually filter the strings by data type.

Method 4: Recovering Remote Calls

If you accidentally erase the story or it disappears after resetting, don't panic, there's a chance you can get it back.

• 📱 Use the recovery apps: Dr.Fone, EaseUS MobiSaver or DiskDigger (root rights required).
• 💾 Restore from local backup: if you did backup through Settings → Additionally. → Recovery and discharge.
• 📧 Request details from the operator: contact the support of your mobile operator (MTS, Beeline, Tele2, etc.) and request details of calls for the desired period.

⚠️ Note: Data recovery applications often require root rights, which cancels the Redmi warranty, and they can only restore records that have not yet been overwritten with new information. The faster you start the recovery, the better the chances of success.

Method 5: View Google Contacts (if sync is enabled)

If you use a Google account on your Redmi, your call history can automatically sync with Google Contacts to view it:

1. Open your browser and go to contacts.google.com.
2. Sign in with the same account as on your phone.
