Why Xiaomiโs blacklist can be hidden
The blacklist on Xiaomi smartphones is a built-in MIUI feature that blocks unwanted calls and SMS. But many users face a problem: the menu they want is simply not in the standard settings, and the reason lies in the features of the firmware and regional versions of MIUI.
For example, in global firmware (MIUI Global), the "Blacklist" item may be called Blocklist or "Blocklist" and in Chinese versions (MIUI China) it may be called (Heimingdan), and after the MIUI 14/15 updates, the location of the feature often changes. If you can't find the blacklist, it's likely one of three reasons:
- ๐ฑ Regional firmware - in Chinese versions MIUI The menu is called differently and can be hidden without root rights
- ๐ Update the system after upgrade to MIUI 15 The path to settings has changed (see section below)
- ๐ ๏ธ Resetting โ If the phone was restored via Fastboot, some features may be disabled
In this article, weโll look at 5 working ways to open a blacklist on any Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO smartphone โ from standard settings to hidden commands for power users. If you use custom firmware (like Pixel Experience), some methods may not work โ weโll talk about that too.
Method 1: The standard path through the "Phone" (MIUI 14/15)
The easiest method is to use the built-in Phone app, which works on most modern Xiaomi devices with global firmware.
- Open the Phone app (the tube icon on the home screen).
- Slap three points (โฎ) top-right.
- Select the "Settings" option.
- Scroll down to the "Blocking Numbers" or Block Numbers section.
- Click on the "Blocklist" button.
If you donโt have a โNumber Blockโ option on your menu, check out the MIUI version:
- ๐ฒ MIUI 14/15 Global โ the path is relevant for Redmi Note 12/13, Xiaomi 13/14, POCO F5/X5
- ๐จ๐ณ MIUI China โ instead of โBlockingโ look for (Lanjie Heimingdan)
- โ๏ธ LineageOS, ArrowOS โ blacklist may not be available at all
โ ๏ธ Note: On some models (Redmi) 10A, POCO M4 Pro: "Blacklist" is hidden behind an additional menu. If you can't see it right away, try clicking "Additional settings" in the call section.
Is the MIUI version global (not Chinese)?
Is the phone app removed/deactivated?
Are there any active restrictions from the operator (e.g., "Parental Control")?
Have you tried rebooting your phone?

Method 2: Through Settings โ Applications (for MIUI 12 and older)
The alternative is through system settings, which works even if the Phone app has been removed or disabled.
- Open the "Settings" section.
- Go to the "Apps" section (Apps) โ "Application management".
- Put three points on it (โฎ) In the upper corner and select "Special Access".
- Find the "Call Lock" or "Call Lock" option.
- In the menu that opens, select "Black List".
If there is no "number lock" item, it means:
- ๐ Chinese firmware โ you need to change your region or install Google Play Services
- ๐ต The function is disabled by the operator (relevant for corporate phones)
- ๐ ๏ธ The system has been modified (e.g. via Magisk or Xposed)
| Xiaomi model | The Way to the Blacklist in MIUI 15 | The Way to MIUI 12-14 |
|---|---|---|
| Xiaomi 13/14, Redmi Note 12 | Phone. โ โฎ โ Settings โ Number locking | Settings โ Applications โ Special access โ Blocking |
| POCO F5/X5, Redmi K60 | Phone. โ โฎ โ Blocklist (English version) | Settings โ System โ Additional โ Blacklist |

Method 3: Use of USSD code (for MTS, Beeline, Tele2) operators
If the system blacklist is not available, you can block numbers directly through the carrier, which works independently of the version of MIUI, but has limitations:
- โ Numbers are locked at level SIM-Cards (Even after the phone is dropped)
- โ Not blocking. SMS (call-up)
- โ Restriction on number of numbers (usually) 10-20)
Instructions for popular operators:
| Operator. | Lockdown team | Unlocking command |
|---|---|---|
| MTS | *111*301*Number# | *111*302*Number# |
| Beeline | *110*789*Number# | *110*789*0*Number# |
| Megaphone | *130*1*Number# | *130*2*Number# |
| Tele2. | *220*1*Number# | *220*2*Number# |
Important: After input USSD-code will come SMS Blocking through the operator can be paid (for example, MTS โ 3 rubles / day).
โ ๏ธ Note: If you use a virtual operator (Tinkoff Mobile, SberMobile), USSD-If you do, lock the numbers through your personal account on the operator's website.
Method 4: Hidden menu of engineering settings (for advanced)
On some Xiaomi models (especially Redmi with MediaTek processors), the blacklist can be opened through the engineering menu.
Instructions:
- Open the phone app.
- Enter the code: ##4636## or #36446337###.
- In the menu that opens, select โPhone Informationโ.
- Scroll down to the "Call Blocking" or "Call Blocking" section.
If the menu does not open:
- ๐ง You have a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor โ a different engineering menu (try #7780##)
- ๐ซ The operator has blocked access (relevant for corporate companies) SIM)
- ๐ฑ Phone with MIUI China โ Requires a Global change from region to region via Fastboot
What happens if you accidentally change the settings in the engineering menu?
Method 5: Third-party applications (if the system blacklist is not available)
If none of the above methods worked, there is still the option of installing third-party software. SMS Xiaomi:
- ๐ Truecaller โ blocks spam and scams on the database (there is a Russian version)
- ๐ซ Blacklist Plus โ a simple blacklist with call logs
- ๐ Call Blocker โ supports blocking by keywords in the SMS
- ๐ฑ Should I Answer? โ Real-time analysis of numbers
How to set up a lock in Truecaller:
- Install the app from Google Play.
- Register (you can use Google or phone number).
- Go to the "Block" section.
- Add numbers manually or enable automatic spam blocking.
โ ๏ธ Note: Apps like Truecaller require access to contacts, call logs and a call log. SMS. If you use your phone to work with sensitive information, it is better to choose offline solutions (for example, Blacklist Plus).
๐ก
Before installing a third-party blocker, check its reputation on 4PDA or Google Play. Some apps may send spam or sell your data themselves.
What to do if the blacklist is reset after the MIUI update
After upgrading to a new version of MIUI (e.g. from MIUI 14 to MIUI 15), users often find the blacklist cleared.
- ๐ Resetting the settings of the application "Phone"
- ๐ฑ Changes in the structure of the contact database
- ๐ง Conflict with custom firmware (for example, after installing Xiaomi.EU)
How to restore the list:
- Check backup in Settings โ About Phone โ Backup.
- Export contacts to the.vcf file and import them again.
- Use Google Contacts โ blocking them is saved when you update.
- If nothing helps, use it. ADB-teams (PC required):
adb shell content query --uri content://call_log/calls
adb shell content insert --uri content://call_log/blacklist --bind number:s:79123456789Critical: Before using ADB, back up your data via Mi PC Suite or TWRP. Incorrect commands can result in the loss of all contacts.
