Why Xiaomi Redmi can automatically redirect calls?
Have you noticed that incoming calls on your Xiaomi Redmi smartphone are suddenly redirected to another number? This is not always the result of viruses or malfunctions - most often the reason lies in the activated redirect function, which you could turn on yourself (for example, when setting up the second number), the carrier (as part of the tariff plan), or even a third-party application with administrator rights.
Redirection is conditional (only works if the subscriber is not available) and unconditional (all calls go to another number at once). On Redmi, this feature is implemented through standard Android settings, but with branded improvements from Xiaomi. For example, in the MIUI firmware, the redirect menu is hidden deeper than in the βpureβ Android, and some parameters are duplicated in the Security application.
Important: If you did not set up a redirect consciously, activation of it can signal the connection of paid operator services or malware action. USSD-Phone applications β there may be traces of unauthorized commands.
Method 1: Disabling redirects through MIUI settings
The most reliable method is to use the built-in MIUI tools. It works on all Redmi models (from Redmi 4A to Redmi Note 12 Pro+), regardless of the firmware version.
- Open the Phone app (the tube icon on the home screen).
- Click on the three dots in the upper right corner β select Settings.
- Go to the Calls section β Call forwarding.
- Slip by the active rule (e.g., Always redirect or if there is no response).
- Select Disable and confirm the action.
If there is no call forwarding, then the function is disabled at the system level. SIM-map:
- π Double. SIM: Select the card you want at the top of the call settings screen.
- π‘ Operator: Some providers block access to redirects via menus (e.g. Tele2 or Iota).
- π Parental controls: If the phone is used by a child, the function may have been restricted through Family Safety.

If the redirect continues to work after the shutdown, restart the phone β sometimes the changes only apply after the reboot.
Method 2: USSD-commands
USSD-Codes are a universal tool that works even if the menu is a good one. MIUI Xiaomi Redmi is good for standard commands, but they need to be entered with nuanced information:
| Type of forwarding | Code for deactivation | Note |
|---|---|---|
| All calls (unconditional) | ##002# | Resets all redirection rules |
| If there is no answer | ##61# | Timeout response is set up separately |
| If it's busy. | ##67# | It only works with an active call. |
| If you're out of range | ##62# | Maybe not roaming. |
How to enter commands:
- Open the Phone app.
- Go to the keyboard tab.
- Enter the code (e.g. #002#) and press the call button.
- Wait for the notification of successful shutdown (will come) SMS pop-up).
β οΈ Note: Some operators (for example, MTS or Beeline) block USSD-In this case, use the official application of the operator or contact support.

Method 3: Checking through the engineering menu (for experienced)
If standard methods didn't work, the redirect could be activated at a low level of the system, in which case the engineering menu (hidden from the user) will help. Careful: the wrong actions here can disrupt the network!
Instructions for Redmi on Qualcomm processors (most models):
- Open the Phone app.
- Enter ##4636## β Choose Phone Information.
- Scroll down to the Set preferred network type block.
- Click on Show IMS settings (if any).
- Check the status of Call Forwarding β if it is Enabled, turn it off.
For models on MediaTek (e.g. Redmi 9A or Redmi 8):
- Enter ##36446337##.
- Go to Connectivity β Call β Call Forwarding.
- Turn off all active rules.
β οΈ Attention: On some firmware MIUI The engineering menu is locked, and if nothing happens after you enter the code, your model doesn't support the method.
What to do if the engineering menu is not opened?
Method 4: Disconnection through the operator application
Many carriers offer their own service management applications, which is true if the redirect was connected through a tariff plan or promotion.
- π± MTS: Application My MTS β Services β Redirection.
- π± Beeline: My Beeline β Management of services β Calls.
- π± MegaFon: MegaFon-Service β My services. β Additional.
- π± Tele2: My Tele2 β Services β Redirection of calls.
If you donβt remember which app the service was connected to, check all the programs installed with operator names. Itβs also useful to look at Settings β Apps β Permissions β Phone β there may be applications with call management rights.
Important: some carriers (e.g., Yota or virtual providers like Tinkoff Mobile) don't provide an interface to disable redirects. USSD-team-up.
Method 5: Checking for viruses and malware
If the redirect is triggered by itself, it could be a virus or spyware. On Xiaomi Redmi, this is especially true because of the brand's popularity among scammers.
- Install an antivirus (such as Dr.Web or Kaspersky) and scan the device.
- Check the device administrator list: Settings β Passwords and Security β Device administrators Remove suspicious apps (such as those with names like Call Manager or Phone Optimizer).
- Open Settings β Applications β Application Management and sort by installation date. Remove unfamiliar programs.
- Check permissions for apps: Settings β Privacy β Permissions β Phone Revoke access from suspicious utilities.
Typical signs of viral redirection:
- π΄ Calls are redirected to short numbers (for example, +79xxxxxx123).
- π΄ In history. USSD There are unknown commands (for example, *21*123456#).
- π΄ Redirection is enabled after the phone is restarted.
- π΄ In Settings β Accounts have appeared unknown profiles.

If the antivirus does not find threats, but the redirect is saved, reset the network settings: Settings β System β Reset settings β Reset the settings of Wi-Fi, mobile network and Bluetooth.
Method 6: Reset network settings (extreme case)
If none of these methods work, you'll have to reset the network settings, and that will delete all the stored Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth passwords, and mobile settings, but it will return the factory call settings.
- Go to Settings β System β Resetting settings.
- Select Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile Network and Bluetooth settings.
- Confirm the action by entering PIN-code.
- After the reboot, check the redirect via ##002#.
What to do after the discharge:
- π Set up. APN for mobile Internet (options can be taken on the operator's website).
- π Reconnect to Wi-Fi networks.
- π Check the balance β sometimes resets resets and connected services.
β οΈ Note: On some Redmi models (e.g. Redmi Note 10 Pro), a network reset may cause a loss of network value. IMEI. Write it down before the procedure: enter *#06# and save both numbers.
