How to remove spam call blocking on Xiaomi: all ways (including hidden MIUI settings)

Spam calls from banks, scammers and intrusive marketers have become a disaster for smartphone owners. Xiaomi tries to protect users with an embedded filtering system, but often it works too aggressively - blocking important calls from clinics, delivery services or even relatives from unknown numbers. If you missed an important call because of overdoing antispam MIUI, this article will help regain control of incoming calls.

We tested all the current ways to disable locks on Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO (including the models 2023-2026 on MIUI 14), and identified 5 working methods - from obvious to hidden. Importantly, some settings are hidden deep in the system, and in new versions of firmware they have moved or renamed. So watch for screenshots and exact paths in the menu - they are current at the time of publication (June 2026).

Before you start, check if the Xiaomi lock is really a problem, and sometimes calls don't reach for other reasons:

• 📵 The operator blocks numbers (especially important for virtual operators such as “Tele2” or “Yota»)
• 🔕 Do Not Disturb Mode is enabled in the phone settings
• 📱 Third-party applications (such as Truecaller or SberCall) intercept the call

If none of these points are suitable, read on.

1. disable the built-in MIUI antispam (main method)

The easiest way is to deactivate the standard spam protection in your phone settings.This method works on all Xiaomi smartphones with MIUI 12-14, including the Xiaomi 13T, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and POCO F5.

1. Open the Phone app (the tube icon on the home screen).
2. Slip on the three dots in the upper right corner → select Settings.
3. Go to the section Blocking and filtering spam (some models called Spam Protection).
4. Turn off spam call filtering slider (it should turn grey).
5. For reliability, also deactivate Blocking identified spam calls and a possible spam warning.

After that, all incoming calls will come without filtering. Please note that on some firmware (for example, the global version of MIUI 14.0.4 for Xiaomi 12T), the section may be called Spam protection - look for it in the same menu.

⚠️ Attention: On phones with MIUI for Russia (version) RU) When you turn off anti-spam, you might get a notification saying, "Spam protection is off. Your phone is vulnerable to fraud." It can be ignored -- it's a standard warning system, not an error.

2. Removal of numbers from MIUI blacklist

Even if you turned off the filter, some numbers could have been locked earlier and left on the blacklist to unlock them:

1. Launch the Phone → Settings → Lock numbers (or Blacklist).
2. Check the list of blocked contacts. Numbers can be added here: 🤖 Automatically by the system (labeled as "Spam») 👤 Manually by you or another phone user 📱 Third-party applications (for example, “SberCall” or “Kaspersky»)

Delete

If you have hundreds of numbers on the list and don’t want to check them manually, you can reset the blacklist completely:

1. In the same menu, click on the three dots in the top corner → Clear everything.
2. This will remove ALL blocked numbers, including those you manually added for real spammers.

3. Disable spam protection in security settings

Starting with MIUI 13, Xiaomi has moved some of its anti-spam features to the Security app (shield icon).If previous methods have failed, check this section:

1. Open Settings → Applications → Security.
2. Go to Spam Protection (or Spam Protection on global firmware).
3. Turn off the sliders: 📞 Call filtering 💬 Filtering messages (if it interferes with the SMS) 🌐 Browser protection (does not affect calls, but can block websites)

On some firmware (e.g. MIUI 14 for POCO F4), the Spam Protection section may be hidden to find it:

Settings → Search (laptop) → enter “spam” → select “Spam Protection”

If there is no anti-spam section in the security settings, try updating the Security app via Google Play. Sometimes Xiaomi adds features through updates rather than firmware.

4. Reset the settings of the Phone application (if nothing helps)

If calls are still blocked and there are no obvious sliders on the menu to turn off anti-spam, try resetting the standard call settings, which will return all settings to factory settings, including hidden filters:

1. Open Settings → Applications → Application Management.
2. Find your phone (or phone) and tap it.
3. Select Warehouse. → Clear the data.
4. This will delete the call history, but it won't affect the contacts.
5. Reboot the phone.

After reset, check if new spam-related items have appeared in the Phone menu → Settings. Sometimes they are hidden until the first reset.

⚠️ Attention: On phones with MIUI for China (version) CN) Resetting the Phone app can cause sync failure with Mi Account.Before the procedure, make sure you have a backup of contacts (for example, in Google Account).

5. Disabling antispam via the engineering menu (for advanced)

If standard methods fail, you can try deactivating the filtering through the engineering menu (hidden settings Xiaomi).

1. Open the Phone app and type the combination: ##4636## Some models (e.g. Redmi Note 11) may require a #841## combination.
2. In the menu that opens, select Phone Information (or Phone Information).
3. Scroll down to Spam Protection (or Spam Protection).
4. Click on Disable next to the items: 📵 Call Blocking (Call Blocking) 📵 Spam Detection (Spam Detection)

Go back to the main menu and restart the phone.

If the engineering menu doesn't open, your firmware will block it, and then it's only going to help unlock the bootloader and install custom firmware -- but that's a topic for a separate article.

The engineering menu is a powerful tool, but it's dangerous. Don't change the other settings in it unless you know what they're going to do. It can cause the network to crash or even the phone to "brick up."

6. Checking of third-party applications (Truecaller, “SberCall” and others)

Often, call blocking is not organized by standard Xiaomi tools, but by third-party applications.

• 📱 Truecaller – blocks numbers on its database (disables in the application settings)
• 🏦 «SberCall** (from Sberbank) – aggressively filters “suspicious” numbers
• 🛡️ Kaspersky, Dr.Web – antiviruses with anti-spam function
• 📡 «MTS Protection, Beeline Protection** – operator services
• 🤖 Google Phone (if installed as a default call) – has its own spam filter

To check which app is blocking calls:

1. Open Settings → Applications → Permissions → Other permissions.
2. Find Change Phone Settings or Call Management.
3. See which apps have access to calls. Turn off permissions for suspicious ones.

If you use Truecaller but want to leave it for number identification rather than locking:

1. Open the application → Settings → Blocking.
2. Disable Spam Blocking and Fraud Blocking.
3. Leave only Call Identification on.
