Xiaomi smartphones (including the Redmi, POCO and Mi line) keep the history of Bluetooth connected devices for the convenience of users โ so that you do not have to re-pair with headphones, speakers or fitness bracelets. However, over time, this list grows, and some devices stop connecting correctly, in such cases, you need a complete cleanup of Bluetooth history, but not everyone knows how to do it correctly.
In this article, you will find current ways to remove stored devices on MIUI 12-15, including hidden settings and reset the Bluetooth module through the engineering menu. We will also discuss why some devices are not removed in the standard way, and what to do if connection errors occur after cleaning. The instructions are suitable for all modern Xiaomi models, including Redmi Note 12/13, POCO X5/F5, Xiaomi 13/14 and others.
Why you should clean up Bluetooth history on Xiaomi
The list of connected devices in Bluetooth is not just a history of connections, but databases with unique identifiers (MAC-Addresses and encryption keys. Over time, this list can cause the following problems:
- ๐ Automatic connection to irrelevant devices โ the smartphone tries to connect to the neighborโs column or old headphones that have not been used for a long time.
- ๐ Connection conflicts โ new devices canโt mate due to crowded cache or outdated profiles.

For example, if you used to connect the Mi Band 3 to your phone and now use the Xiaomi Smart Band 8, an old fitness bracelet can interfere with the stable operation of a new one, as well as wireless headphones (for example, Redmi Buds 4 or Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro), which require a โcleanโ connection after reset.
Method 1: Standard Deletion of Devices through Settings
The easiest method is to manually remove unwanted devices via the Bluetooth menu, which works on all Xiaomi smartphones with MIUI 12-15 and does not require root rights or additional applications.
Instructions:
- Open Settings โ Connections and Sharing โ Bluetooth.
- Push the gear. โ๏ธ Next to the name of the device you want to remove.
- In the menu that opens, select Disable (if the device is connected), then Forget the device.
- Confirm the action in the dialog window.
If the device doesnโt appear on the list but youโre sure it was once connected, try turning on Show System Devices (if thereโs one in your version of MIUI).

- Open the phone app and enter the combination: ##4636##
- In the menu that appears, select Phone Information (or Phone Information).
- Scroll down to the Bluetooth section and press Bluetooth Reset (or Bluetooth reset).
- Confirm the action and restart the smartphone.

What to do if the engineering menu is not opened?
Method 3: Clearing the cache and data of the Bluetooth application
If the devices are deleted but reappear in the list after a while, the problem may lie in the cache of the Bluetooth app.Cache and data clearing will reset all temporary files, including possible pairing errors.
Instructions:
- Go to Settings โ Applications โ Application Management.

Method 4: Remove via ADB (for power users)
If standard methods donโt work, you can use Android Debug Bridge (ADB), a tool for debugging Android devices, which requires connecting your smartphone to your computer, but allows you to completely clean all stored devices, including those that are not displayed in the interface.
Instructions:
- Install ADB Tools on your computer.
- Activate Developer Mode on your smartphone: Settings โ About Phone โ MIUI version (shap 7 times).
- Enable USB debugging in Settings โ Additional โ For developers.
- Connect your phone to your PC and execute the commands: adb devices adb shell pm clear com.android.bluetooth adb shell rm /data/misc/bluedroid/bt_config.conf
- Reboot your smartphone.

Method 5: Reset all network settings (last resort)
If none of the previous methods worked, you'll have to completely reset your network settings, which will not only delete your Bluetooth history, but also your stored Wi-Fi networks, VPN settings, and mobile Internet data, and only use this method as a last resort!
Instructions:
- Go to Settings โ System and device โ Additional โ Resetting.
- Select Network Settings Reset (or Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth).
- Confirm the action by entering PIN-code.
- After the reboot, all network settings will be reset.
This method is guaranteed to remove all stored Bluetooth devices, but will require reconfiguration of the connection to Wi-Fi and mobile network, and we recommend pre-recording passwords from important networks.

Frequent Errors and Their Solutions After Bluetooth Cleanup
After you delete your devices or reset your Bluetooth settings, you may have new problems, and here are the most common ways to solve them:

If problems persist, check if Bluetooth conflicts with other wireless modules. For example, some Xiaomi models (such as the Redmi Note 11 Pro+) can not simultaneously work Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 5 GHz. In this case, switch Wi-Fi to 2.4 GHz.
