Auto dial on Xiaomi: where to find the function and how to configure a re-call

What is an auto-dialer and why is it needed?

Auto dialing (or automatic recalling) is a feature that allows a smartphone to call back to a number on its own if the first call goes unanswered.

On most Samsung or iPhone smartphones, this feature is built into the standard Phone app, but MIUI often cuts it down or removes it altogether — especially on the budget models Redmi and POCO. The reasons can vary from Xiaomi policies to restrictions imposed by mobile operators (for example, MTS or Beeline block frequent repeated calls like spam).

It is important to understand that auto dialing works differently depending on the firmware and region, for example, on global versions of MIUI, the function may not be available, while on Chinese (China ROM) it is sometimes available out of the box, and some carriers (for example, Tele2) can block repeated calls if they occur too often, this is done to combat phone spam.

Where to look for an auto dial in the standard application “Phone” on Xiaomi

To start with, the most obvious is checking the standard Phone (or Contacts) application, and in some versions of MIUI, the auto dialing function is hidden in the call settings. Here's how to find it:

1. Open the Phone app (the tube icon on the home screen).
2. Press three points (⋮) in the upper right corner and select Settings.
3. Go to Calls or Additional Features (the name may vary depending on the version of MIUI).
4. Look for items like: Automatic Re-Call Auto-Call Re-Call (Redial in English)
