How to find locked numbers on Xiaomi: hidden menus and alternative methods

You blocked an unwanted number on Xiaomi, but now you can’t remember where to look at the full list in the settings? Or you suspect that someone from your household secretly added your contact to the blacklist? In this article, we will analyze all possible ways to find locked numbers on Redmi, POCO and other models with the MIUI shell, from obvious to hidden.

Unlike many other manufacturers, Xiaomi doesn’t always place the blacklist in the same place, and it depends on the MIUI version (12, 13, 14 or HyperOS), the phone model, and even regional settings. We tested all the current methods on 2020-2026 devices and put them together in one guide, and if the standard methods didn’t work, we have backup options using system applications and even ADB.

Method 1: Standard path through Settings (MIUI 12–14)

The most obvious and quick method is to use the built-in lock menu in your phone settings.It works on most modern Xiaomi devices, including the Redmi Note 11/12/13, POCO X5/F5 and the flagship Xiaomi 13/14 series.

1. Open the Settings app** (the gear icon on the home screen).
2. Scroll down and select the App section.
3. Slip on the item Application Management.
4. At the top of the search, type in your phone and select the Phone system app** (not to be confused with Google Phone if installed).

If you have a MIUI 14 or newer, the path may be slightly different.

In this section, you will see a full list of blocked contacts with the ability to unlock them. Please note: this displays only those numbers that you manually blocked through the system application Phone**. If the lock was done through messengers (WhatsApp, Telegram) or third-party applications – they will not be here.

On some models (e.g. Redmi) 10C) The lock section is hidden behind the extra menu. Try pressing three dots (⋮) in the upper right corner of the "Phone" application and select "Settings" → "Number locking".

Method 2: Using the Phone app (Fast Access)

Not everyone knows that you can open a list of locked numbers directly from the Phone app without going into the system settings.This method works on all versions of MIUI and takes literally 10 seconds:

1. Open the Phone app** (the phone icon on the home screen).
2. Tap it on three points (⋮) in the upper right corner or swipe left to open the side menu.
3. Select Settings (or Call Options on older versions).
4. Scroll down to the section Blocking Numbers or Blacklist.

On this menu you will see:

• 📞 All blocked numbers with date of addition
• 🔄 Unlock button (swipe left or click on the number)
• ➕ Option to add new numbers to the blacklist
• ⚙️ Additional settings (e.g., blocking unknown numbers)

Method 3: Security Verification (for MIUI 13/14)

In the latest versions of MIUI (starting with the 13th), the number lock feature has moved to the Security app, which is due to an increased emphasis on privacy.

1. Open the Security app** (the shield icon, usually on the home screen).

Method 4: Alternative methods for older versions of MIUI

If you have a Xiaomi phone on MIUI 10-12 (like Redmi 8/9, Mi A3 or POCO F1), the interface may be significantly different.

Option A: Through "Call Settings"

Option B: Through Contact

On very old versions (MIUI 9 and below), the blacklist could have been hidden in the Contacts app:

On Android One phones (e.g. Mi A1/A2/A3), the blacklist is managed through standard Android settings: Settings → Apps → Phone → Blocked numbers.

Method 5: Advanced Method through ADB (for experienced)

If standard methods didn’t help, and the list of locked numbers is critical (for example, for recovery after a reset), you can extract it through Android Debug Bridge (ADB).

Here's how to do it:

1. Turn on Developer Mode on your phone: go to Settings → About Phone and tap the MIUI version 7 times.
2. Return to Settings → Additional → For developers and activate Debugging over USB.
3. Connect your phone to your PC, install it. ADB-Drivers and open the command line.
4. Enter the command to get a list of blocked numbers: adb shell content query --uri content://call_log/blocked_numbers

The result will look something like this:

To unlock the number through ADB, use:

adb shell content delete --uri content://call_log/blocked_numbers --where "_id=1"

(Replace id=1 with the desired identifier from the list).

⚠️ Attention: Misuse of the right ADB Do not change other system settings through this tool without understanding the consequences.

Method 6: Checking through a communications operator

If you blocked numbers not on your phone, but through the operator’s services (for example, the “Black List” from MTS, Beeline or Tele2), then they will not be in the Xiaomi settings.

• 📞 Call the operator and request a list of blocked numbers (paid service).

Operator locking is working at the level SIM-So it's going to be active even if you put it in another phone, and you have to call the operator to cancel it.
