Have you accidentally blocked an important contact on Xiaomi Redmi and now you can’t find where to look at the list of banned numbers? or want to check if someone close to you has been blacklisted? In this article, we will analyze all possible ways, from standard MIUI settings to hidden functions and third-party applications.
The problem is that MIUI (and now HyperOS) interfaces change regularly, and the path to locked numbers can vary depending on the firmware version. We tested the instructions on the Redmi Note 10/11/12/13 Pro, Redmi 9/10/12C and even the old Redmi 5/6 models — and put together universal methods that work on 90% of devices. If your model is not on the list, don’t worry: the search algorithm is the same for all Xiaomi smartphones.
Importantly, some methods require superuser rights, but we've highlighted them separately and suggested alternatives. And there's a hidden method in the article to recover accidentally deleted entries from a blacklist - read to the end!
1. Standard method: through phone settings
The easiest way is to use the built-in MIUI/HyperOS tools. It does not require installing additional applications and works on all firmware versions starting with MIUI 10.
Instructions:
- Open the phone application (pipe icon).
- Press three points (⋮) in the upper right corner and select Settings.
- Go to the Blocking Numbers section (or the Blacklist in older versions).
- Enter a password/pattern lock if requested.
- A full list of blocked contacts and numbers will be opened.
⚠️ Note: If you have HyperOS (firmware 2026), the path may be slightly different: Phone → Profile (human icon) → Settings → Privacy → Number locking.

2. via the Contacts app (alternative path)
If the Phone menu doesn’t have a “Block” option, try using the Contacts app, which is relevant for devices with MIUI 11-13 that have been redesigned.
Step-by-step:
- Open the “Contacts” (the icon with the silhouette of a person).
- Press three horizontal lines (☰) top-left.
- Select Settings → Lock numbers.
- Enter. PIN-code or fingerprint, if required.

3. View through call log (hidden method)
Few people know, but MIUI has a hidden feature that displays locked calls directly in the log, and it works even if you don't remember if you blocked a number.
How to find it:
- Open the phone and go to the magazine tab.
- Press three points (⋮) → Settings.
- Activate Show blocked calls (or Display hidden calls in older versions).
- Return to the log - now blocked numbers will be marked with a red exclamation point (❗).

4.Use of the application "Security" (Security)
MIUI firmware has a built-in Security app that manages all privacy features, including number locking, which is suitable for devices with MIUI 14 and HyperOS.
Instructions:
- Open the Security app (shield icon).
- Go to the Privacy (or Privacy) tab.
- Select the number lock or the blacklist.
- Enter the screen unlock password.

5. Recovery of deleted records from the blacklist
If you accidentally cleared the blacklist or reset your phone, you have a chance to restore the locked numbers, and you will need a MIUI backup or special utilities.
Method 1: Through a backup of the MI Cloud
- Go to Settings → About Phone → Backup and Reset.
- Choose Restore from MI Cloud.
- Find the backup copy made before the blacklist was cleared.
- Restore only the Application Settings section → Phone/Contacts.
Method 2: With ADB (for Advanced)
If there is no backup, you can try to extract data via ADB (requires a PC and debugging over USB).

6. Third-party applications for blacklist management
If the built-in MIUI tools don't work, you can use third-party apps, and they offer advanced features like blocking history, automatic spam addition, cloud backup.

Third-party applications are convenient, but do not replace the built-in MIUI blacklist. They run on top of the system and can conflict with firmware.
Frequent problems and solutions
Problem 1: There is no “Blocking Numbers” option in the settings.
Solution: Update your firmware to the latest version or install Google Phone from the Play Market, where the blacklist is in the Play Market. ⋮ → Settings → Number locking.
Problem 2: The locked number still rings.
Solution: Check if contact is added to exceptions (some firmwares have the option "Allow call from blocked contacts in emergency"). Also make sure lock is enabled for everyone SIM-cards (if there are several).
Problem 3: After resetting the settings, the blacklist cleared.
Solution: If you have synced with Mi Account enabled, try to restore data through Settings → Accounts → Mi Account → Sync. Otherwise, the list is lost irretrievably.
