Have you accidentally blocked an important contact on Xiaomi Redmi and now you canโt find where to look at the list of banned numbers? or want to check if someone close to you has been blacklisted? In this article, we will analyze all possible ways, from standard MIUI settings to hidden functions and third-party applications.
The problem is that MIUI (and now HyperOS) interfaces change regularly, and the path to locked numbers can vary depending on the firmware version. We tested the instructions on the Redmi Note 10/11/12/13 Pro, Redmi 9/10/12C and even the old Redmi 5/6 models โ and put together universal methods that work on 90% of devices. If your model is not on the list, donโt worry: the search algorithm is the same for all Xiaomi smartphones.
Importantly, some methods require superuser rights, but we've highlighted them separately and suggested alternatives. And there's a hidden method in the article to recover accidentally deleted entries from a blacklist - read to the end!
1. Standard method: through phone settings
The easiest way is to use the built-in MIUI/HyperOS tools. It does not require installing additional applications and works on all firmware versions starting with MIUI 10.
Instructions:
- Open the phone application (pipe icon).
- Press three points (โฎ) in the upper right corner and select Settings.
- Go to the Blocking Numbers section (or the Blacklist in older versions).
- Enter a password/pattern lock if requested.
- A full list of blocked contacts and numbers will be opened.
โ ๏ธ Note: If you have HyperOS (firmware 2026), the path may be slightly different: Phone โ Profile (human icon) โ Settings โ Privacy โ Number locking.
- ๐ฑ It works on: Redmi Note 12/13, Redmi 12C, POCO X5 newer.
- โ๏ธ Required: Standard User Rights.
- โ Does not work if: The blacklist is empty or reset to factory settings.
2. via the Contacts app (alternative path)
If the Phone menu doesnโt have a โBlockโ option, try using the Contacts app, which is relevant for devices with MIUI 11-13 that have been redesigned.
Step-by-step:
- Open the โContactsโ (the icon with the silhouette of a person).
- Press three horizontal lines (โฐ) top-left.
- Select Settings โ Lock numbers.
- Enter. PIN-code or fingerprint, if required.
๐ Tip: If the settings do not contain the item "Block", try to enter in the search bar "Black list" - the system will tell you where it is located.
๐ก
On some Redmi models (like the Note 8 Pro), the blacklist is hidden behind the Privacy option in your contact settings.
| Model Redmi | MIUI/HyperOS version | The Road to the Blacklist |
|---|---|---|
| Redmi Note 10/11 | MIUI 12โ13 | Phone. โ โฎ โ Settings โ Lockdown |
| Redmi 9/9A/9C | MIUI 11โ12 | Contacts โ โฐ โ Settings โ Blacklist. |
| Redmi Note 12 Pro+ | HyperOS 1.0 | Phone โ Profile โ Settings โ Privacy โ Blocking |
| POCO X3/X4 | MIUI 13 for POCO | Contacts โ โ๏ธ โ Blocking and filtration |
3. View through call log (hidden method)
Few people know, but MIUI has a hidden feature that displays locked calls directly in the log, and it works even if you don't remember if you blocked a number.
How to find it:
- Open the phone and go to the magazine tab.
- Press three points (โฎ) โ Settings.
- Activate Show blocked calls (or Display hidden calls in older versions).
- Return to the log - now blocked numbers will be marked with a red exclamation point (โ).
โ ๏ธ Note: This method only shows the last 30 days of blocked calls.
Check if the option "Show blocked calls" is enabled"|Update the Phone app in Google Play|Reboot your smartphone|Try an alternative method (see section 4)-->
4.Use of the application "Security" (Security)
MIUI firmware has a built-in Security app that manages all privacy features, including number locking, which is suitable for devices with MIUI 14 and HyperOS.
Instructions:
- Open the Security app (shield icon).
- Go to the Privacy (or Privacy) tab.
- Select the number lock or the blacklist.
- Enter the screen unlock password.
๐ Why is it more reliable? Security stores a complete history of locks, including numbers locked through the security app. SMS Or third-party messengers (like WhatsApp) The standard "phone" only shows calls.
- ๐ It works even if the number is blocked through Mi Messages or Google Messages.
- ๐ Shows the date of addition to the blacklist.
- โ ๏ธ On some models (Redmi) 7/8) Requires an update to the Security appยป.
5. Recovery of deleted records from the blacklist
If you accidentally cleared the blacklist or reset your phone, you have a chance to restore the locked numbers, and you will need a MIUI backup or special utilities.
Method 1: Through a backup of the MI Cloud
- Go to Settings โ About Phone โ Backup and Reset.
- Choose Restore from MI Cloud.
- Find the backup copy made before the blacklist was cleared.
- Restore only the Application Settings section โ Phone/Contacts.
Method 2: With ADB (for Advanced)
If there is no backup, you can try to extract data via ADB (requires a PC and debugging over USB).
adb shell content query --uri content://call_log/calls --where "type=3"This command will display all blocked calls, and the recovery will require manually adding numbers back to the blacklist.
What to do if there is no backup copy?
6. Third-party applications for blacklist management
If the built-in MIUI tools don't work, you can use third-party apps, and they offer advanced features like blocking history, automatic spam addition, cloud backup.
Top.-3 supplant:
- ๐ Truecaller detects spam numbers and blocks them automatically. There's a 30-day history of blocking.
- ๐ก๏ธ Blacklist Plus โ allows you to create multiple blacklists with different rules (for example, โWorkโ and โPersonalยป).
- ๐ Call Blocker โ a simple blocker with export/import lists CSV.
โ ๏ธ Note: Applications will need access to the call log and SMS. Install only from Google Play and check reviews!

Third-party applications are convenient, but do not replace the built-in MIUI blacklist. They run on top of the system and can conflict with firmware.
Frequent problems and solutions
