Is your Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO stuck on the logo and doesn't boot any further? Does the screen flash, reboot in a loop, or show a Fastboot error? Is a classic bootloop state -- a state where the system can't complete the boot. The reasons can range from a failure after an update to damage to the /system partition. In 80% of cases, the problem can be solved on its own without a service center.
We tested all methods on Xiaomi 11T Pro, Redmi Note 10 Pro, POCO F4 and Mi 13 Ultra (2022-2026).In the article, only current methods that work on the latest versions of MIUI 14/15 and HyperOS. If you see a black screen that says This MIUI cannot version be installed on this device, skip the first 3 sections and immediately go to restore via Fastboot.
Why Xiaomi Bootloops Are Coming: 5 Reasons
Bootloop rarely appears "just like that," usually preceded by one of these actions:
- ๐ Failed Update โ Interrupted Firmware Over Air (OTA) through MIUI Updater. Most often occurs when the Internet is weak or the battery is low below 30%.
- ๐ ๏ธ Manual intervention โ removal of system applications (com.miui.home, com.android.phone), change of root rights or modification of build.prop.
- ๐ฑ Memory damage - physical defects eMMC/UFS-storage device (characteristic of older devices) 3 Symptom: the bootloop appears after falling or overheating.
- ๐ Failure of the bootloader - incorrect unlocking of Bootloader or installing custom recavery (TWRP, OrangeFox).
- ๐ฆ Viral software - some malicious APK-section-modify /boot, which leads to a loading cycle.
On Xiaomi with Snapdragon processors (like the Redmi Note 12 Pro+), the bootloop is often accompanied by an orange LED blink. On devices with MediaTek (POCO M5, Redmi 10C), the screen may remain black, but the phone vibrates every 5-10 seconds.
Quick solutions (without data loss)
If the bootloop has been around recently (less than a day ago), try these methods before resetting:
- Press the Power button + Volume up for 15-20 seconds until the screen goes out. Some models (Mi 11 Lite) have Power + Volume down. After the reboot, wait 5-7 minutes - sometimes the system recovers itself.
- Download in Safe Mode Keep Volume Down when turned on until the MI logo appears. If the phone has booted, remove the recently installed apps via Settings โ Apps.
- Cache reset (does not delete data) Enable Recovery Mode (see next section) and select Wipe Cache Partition. This method helps 30% of cases after a failure OTA-update.
Critical error: if after a forced reboot the phone emits a double vibration and returns to the logo - this is a sign of damage to the /boot partition. In this case, go straight to method 4 (flashing through Fastboot).
๐ก
On HyperOS devices (such as Xiaomi 14), the combination for Safe Mode may be different. Try keeping Volume up when booting until the "Safe mode" appears at the bottom of the screen.
Reset via Recovery Mode (saves photos)
If quick methods don't work, the next step is to softly reset through a standard recap, which removes apps and settings, but leaves them intact:
- ๐ท Photos and videos in DCIM/Pictures
- ๐ต Music and downloads
- ๐ Documents in the Downloads folder
Instructions:
- Turn off the phone (hold Power + Volume up 10 seconds).
- Press Power + Volume up until the Mi Recovery logo appears.
- Select the language (volume buttons) and confirm Power.
- Go to Wipe Data โ Wipe All Data (Do not choose Format Data โ it will delete everything!).
- Confirm the action and wait for the reboot (can take up to 10 minutes).
On newer devices (Xiaomi 13T, Redmi Note 12), the recovery menu may look different. If you see MIUI Recovery 5.0, select Reboot โ Reboot to System after reset.

Fastboot Flashing (100% solution)
If the reset doesn't work, you'll have to completely flash through Fastboot, which works even on bricks, which are devices that don't respond to buttons.
- ๐ฅ๏ธ Windows computer 10/11 Mac
- ๐ Original. USB-cable (do not use cheap analogues!)
- ๐ฆ.tgz or.zip firmware for your model (download from Xiaomi official website)
- ๐ ๏ธ Mi Flash Tool (last version here)
Step-by-step:
- Unpack the firmware in a folder without Cyrillic characters (for example, C:\MIUI\proshivka).
- Install the Mi Flash Tool and Qualcomm drivers (if you have Snapdragon) or MediaTek (for Helio/Dimensity processors).
- Turn off the phone and press Volume Down + Power to enter the Fastboot (a screen with a rabbit and a Fastboot inscription).
- Connect your phone to your PC. In the Mi Flash Tool, press Select and specify the firmware folder.
- Select Clean All (Saves Data) or Clean All and Lock (Full Reset + bootloader Lock).
- Press Flash and wait until it is completed (10-15 minutes).
Important: if the Mi Flash Tool is an error anti_rollback, So you're trying to install an older version. MIUI, In this case, download the firmware of the same or newer version.
What to do if the Mi Flash Tool can't see your phone?
| Mistake in Mi Flash | Reason. | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| flash_write_failure | Memory section damaged | Select Clean All and Lock and repeat the firmware |
| device not found | Drivers not installed | Install Xiaomi Driver manually |
| anti_rollback check fail | Old firmware version | Download a newer firmware |
| invalid sparse file | Firmware archive damaged | Reload the firmware and unpack it again. |
EDL mode: the last hope for the bricks
If the phone is not detected in Fastboot (black screen, no reaction to buttons), then EDL (Emergency Download Mode) remains emergency mode, which operates at the processor level and allows you to recover even completely "killed" devices.
Note: EDL activation on newer models (Xiaomi 13, Redmi Note 12) requires an authorized Xiaomi account (service centers only) and older devices (Mi 9, Redmi Note 8) can do without it.
How to log into EDL:
- ๐ Connect the phone to the PC.
- ๐ง Close the contacts Test Point (location depends on the model, look for diagrams for your device).
- ๐ฅ๏ธ In the Device Manager should appear Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008.
For firmware in EDL, use the Mi Flash Tool (select Clean All mode) or QFil (for Qualcomm devices). The process takes 15-30 minutes.Warning: the wrong firmware in EDL can finally kill the device!
๐ก
EDL mode is the only way to restore Xiaomi that is not responsive to buttons and is not defined in Fastboot. But on models 2022+ requires authorization from Xiaomi, so it is better to contact the service.
How to Prevent Bootloom in the Future
To avoid repeated problems:
- ๐ Update correctly: Always use stable versions MIUI (Avoid beta firmware. Don't interrupt the update - connect your phone to charge. Check the forum reviews before updating (4PDA, XDA) bug-in-the-new version.
- ๐ก๏ธ Protect system files: Do not delete applications prefixed com.miui. or com.android.. Don't change root rights if you're not sure about the actions. Use Magisk instead of SuperSU for root rights (less conflicts).
- ๐ Keep an eye on the battery: Don't let the battery run below 15%. Use the original chargers. If the phone overheats, check the load on the processor (CPU Monitor).
On devices with HyperOS (such as Xiaomi 14), the bootloop may occur due to a conflict with Google Services. If the phone starts to slow after the update, turn off automatic app updates in Google Play.
Features for popular models
Some devices have unique features when recovering:
| Model | Feature of the bootloop | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Redmi Note 10 Pro | Black screen after reset | Fastboot with Clean All and Lock selection |
| POCO F3 | Cyclical reboot after the root | Install TWRP for your version of MIUI |
| Xiaomi Mi 11 | Mistake. anti_rollback firmware | Use firmware version not lower than V12.5.4.0 |
| Redmi 9A | Not included in Fastboot | Press Power + Volume up + Volume down at the same time |
Nana POCO X3 Pro and Redmi. K40 If you run the firmware, you may have a Baseband unknown error. IMEI. It can be restored through QCN-file (instructions are available on the 4PDA).
