You've seen a mysterious "Developer" item in the Xiaomi smartphone settings, or you've been notified "You've become a developer" -- and now you don't know what that means? Don't worry, it's not a virus or a system bug. Developer Mode is a hidden MIUI feature that gives you access to advanced phone settings, debugging, and even the ability to install alternative firmware. But with the new features, there are risks, from accidental resets to loss of warranty.

The message “You are now a developer” appears after activating the hidden menu for developers in the MIUI settings. This does not mean that you are now officially working at Xiaomi or received any privileges from the company.

2. How to Enable Developer Mode on Xiaomi (Step-by-step)
The manual works for all modern Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones on MIUI 12/13/14 (including HyperOS). On older versions (for example, MIUI 10), the path may be slightly different.

Most features are not needed by the average user. For example, the item “Do not turn off the screen while charging is only useful if you are testing applications, and Enable 4x MSAA (Ambalanced in Games) puts the battery down a lot without noticeable improvement in graphics.
