Xiaomi's smartphone is getting glitzy, hanging, or not turning on at all? It might be a factory reset. But what if the screen doesn't respond to touch and the phone is locked? In this case, hardware resetting through buttons, a method that works even on "bricks" (defaulting devices).

Important: hardware reset removes all data from internal memory (photos, contacts, messages). If the phone is still turning on, first try to save information through Mi Cloud or a PC connection.
1.Resetting preparation: what you need to know
Before you start resetting, check out a few key points:

The combination for most models:
1. Turn off the phone (press the power for 10 seconds if it freezes).
2. Press Power + Volume up.
3. Hold until the Recovery menu appears (usually 10-20 seconds).In the Recovery menu, use volume buttons for navigation and power for confirmation.
- Select Wipe Data (or Clear Data on new firmware).
- Confirm Wipe All Data.
- Wait until it is completed (it can take 1-5 minutes).
- Select Reboot to reboot.
What happens if Recovery does not open?
Method 2: Reset via Fastboot (for power users)
If Recovery Mode is not available (for example, due to a damaged firmware), you can reset your phone via Fastboot mode. This method requires you to connect to a PC and use the MiFlash utility or ADB commands.
You'll need:

- π₯ MiFlash utility (official tool of Xiaomi)

Instructions:
- Turn off the phone.

- Connect the phone to the PC.
- Open MiFlash, select the downloaded firmware (file with the extension.tgz).

- Select Clean All mode and press Flash.

Reset via Fastboot deletes all data, including firmware. After the procedure, the phone will be like new - you will need an initial setup (language selection, Wi-Fi connection, etc.).
Method 3: Reset via service menu (for older models)
Some Xiaomi devices of 2015-2018 release (for example, Mi 4, Redmi 3S, Mi Max) have a hidden service menu that allows you to reset settings without logging into Recovery.
How to get there:
