Important: the procedures for Redmi 5 differ from the new models (Redmi Note 12, POCO X5), as Xiaomi has tightened protection. For example, on Redmi 5 you can reset your Mi Account through EDL without authorization, whereas on 2020+ devices this requires an official unlocker.
Method 1: Delete Mi Account through phone settings
