The safest method is if you've previously linked your device to your Xiaomi account, which works even when your screen is locked, but requires Internet access on your phone. Here's how to do it:
- Enter any password 5 times on the locked screen until the message “Forgot your password?” appears.
- Click on this inscription and the Mi Account login window will open.
- Enter the username (email or phone number) and password from your Xiaomi account.
- Confirm unlocking via SMS or email (if two-factor authentication is enabled).
If you don’t remember your account details, try to restore them to account.xiaomi.com. Note that Xiaomi may request additional verification (such as a linked phone number).
⚠️ Attention: On Redmi 7A firmware-old MIUI 12, this method may not work if the phone is not connected to the network. Check whether the Wi-Fi or mobile Internet indicator is on the lock screen.
- ✅ Pros: No data is lost, no computer is required.
- ❌ Cons: You need to link to Mi Account and Internet access.
- ⚠️ Risks: If you repeatedly fail to log in, your account may be temporarily blocked.

Connect the charger (the battery must be charged at least 30%)
