Before you start, check if you remember your current password or PIN. This will make it much easier. If not, don’t worry: we have described options for forgotten data, but they will take longer and can lead to the loss of unsaved files (photos, messages, notes).

2. Delete password through Xiaomi account (Mi Account)

If you forget the lock password, but remember the data from the Mi Account (email and password), you can reset the protection through the official Xiaomi service.

Step-by-step:

1. Go to account.xiaomi.com from a computer or other phone.
2. Sign in with your Mi Account.
3. Select the Find Device tab.
4. The map will show your Redmi 7 – click on it.
5. In the control menu, select Unlock Device (Unlock Device).
6. Confirm the action via SMS or email (depending on the account security settings).

After 5-10 minutes, the phone unlocks automatically, and if that doesn't work, maybe the device has a Find Device or it's not connected to the network, and then you'll have to use Restore Mode (more on that below).

3. Reset password through Recovery mode (without loss of data)

If previous methods have failed, you can try resetting your password through Recovery Mode, which is suitable for Redmi 7 with an unlocked bootloader or if you have previously enabled debugging over USB. Importantly, the method does not guarantee data safety, but in most cases files remain intact.

4. Full reset to factory settings (Hard Reset)
