How to Clean Up Your Xiaomi Call History: 5 Ways to Work

The history of calls on Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones can take up a lot of memory, especially if you actively make calls or receive spam calls. But the main problem is not volume, but privacy: anyone who picks up your phone will be able to see who and when you called. Fortunately, clearing the history of calls on devices with a shell MIUI takes literally a few seconds — if you know where to look for the settings you need.

In this article, we will analyze all possible ways to delete the history of calls: from standard clearing through the application “Phone” to hidden functions. MIUI, We'll focus on the dual-challenged models, which allow you to delete calls selectively or automatically. SIM-maps (such as the Xiaomi 13 Pro or Redmi Note 12) where history can be duplicated, and also consider how to avoid accidentally deleting important entries. 1. Standard method: cleaning through the application "Phone"

The easiest and fastest method is to use the built-in Phone app that all Xiaomi smartphones have, which is suitable for completely clearing the history or deleting individual records.

Open the Phone app (the handset icon on the home screen or in the app menu). In the upper right corner, click three dots. ⋮ (menu) and select Call History. MIUI 14, this item may be called the Journal:

• 🔍 You'll see a list of all calls. To delete everything, click Select All (or the tick at the top of the screen).

2. Delete history through MIUI settings (alternative method)

If for some reason the Phone app doesn't open or doesn't work properly, you can clear your call history through system settings, which is a little longer, but more reliable, because it deletes system-level data, and it's suitable for all versions of MIUI, including MIUI 12/13/14.

Go to Settings → Applications → Application Management. In the list, find the Phone app (or Contacts if you have an older firmware version) and click on it.

• 🗑️ Click Clear Data (not to be confused with Clear Cache!).
• ⚠️ A warning will appear that all application data, including call history and settings, will be deleted.

3. How to delete the call history for a separate SIM-map

On Xiaomi smartphones with two SIM-cards (for example, Xiaomi) 12T, Redmi Note 11 Pro+) Call history can be duplicated or displayed separately for each SIM, if you only need to clear calls for one. SIM, Standard cart removal doesn't always work. Here's how to do it right:

Open the Phone app and go to Call History. At the top of the screen, you'll see tabs with your names. SIM-maps, for example, SIM 1: MTS and SIM 2: Tele2. Select the tab you want, then:

• 📋 Check all calls or select Allocate all calls.

For this:

1. Open the Phone app and go to Settings (cog in the upper right corner).
2. Select Additional Settings (or Advanced in MIUI 14).
3. Find AutoClean Call History (if not, your model does not support this feature).
4. Set a cleaning period: 1 month, 3 months or 6 months.

If you don't have this option, you can use a side-by-side automation application like MacroDroid or Automate, which allows you to create rules to clean your history regularly, but beware: these applications require permission to access call logs, which may not be secure.

⚠️ Warning: Auto Cleansing removes all calls older than the selected period, including important ones. If you are running a business or keeping a history for reporting, it is better to manually clean or use backup (see next section).

5. Backup call history before cleaning

Before clearing your call history, especially if you're doing it for the first time, we recommend backing up. This will help restore important records if you accidentally delete something you need. MIUI has built-in tools for exporting history, but they don't work on all models.

Method 1: Export via MIUI Cloud (for synchronized devices):

If you cleared your call history by mistake, don't panic -- there are several ways to restore it. Success depends on how long ago the records were deleted and whether you used backup.

Method 1: Recovery via Mi Cloud (if synchronization was enabled):

• ☁️ Go to Settings. → Xiaomi account → Mi Cloud.
• 🔄 Find the Data Recovery section and select Call History.
• 📅 Specify the date by which the data needs to be restored (backups are available for the last 30 days).

Method 2: Use of third-party programs (if no backup is available):

So, you can use apps like Dr.Fone or EaseUS MobiSaver to scan your phone's internal memory and recover deleted data, including your call history.

• 📱 Root access is required (it is difficult to get it on most Xiaomis).
• ⚠️ There is no guarantee that the story will be fully restored (depending on the time elapsed after the deletion).
