Why Deleting a Google Account on Xiaomi is Not Always an Easy Task
Deleting a Google account from a Xiaomi smartphone may seem like a trivial operation, but in practice users face a number of nuances. First, MIUI (even in the latest versions of 14+) is integrated with Google services so deeply that simply clicking “Delete Account” in the settings is often not enough. Second, after deleting through the standard menu on the device, there may be an authentication cache on the device that leads to errors when you add the same account again. And finally, many forget that deleting through the phone does not mean deleting the account itself in the cloud – it remains active on Google servers.

Method 1: Standard removal via MIUI settings
The most obvious and safe method is to delete the settings through the settings menu, which is suitable if you have access to your phone and remember your account password. The instructions are relevant for MIUI 12-14 based on Android 10-14 (including Redmi Note 11/12, POCO X4/X5, Xiaomi 13/14).

Method 2: Removal through reset to factory settings

Method 3: Delete Google account via Mi Account (for linked devices)
If your Xiaomi is linked to a Mi Account, you can manage Google accounts remotely via a web interface, which is useful if your phone is lost or locked, but you have access to Mi Account.

- Go to account.xiaomi.com and log in.
- Select the Devices tab and find your phone in the list.

This method requires a computer with ADB/Fastboot drivers installed and an unlocked bootloader, suitable for Xiaomi models on Android 10-12.

- Delete Google Account Manager: In the same menu, search for Google Account Manager and click Clear Data.
- Re-register your device to Google: After cleaning, restart your phone and add your account again. The system will create new authentication keys.

Frequent Mistakes and How to Avoid Them
When you delete a Google account on Xiaomi, users often face typical problems, and here are the most common ones and ways to solve them:
