If you own a Xiaomi TV or smartphone and are faced with annoying Dursun Tosun ads - bright banners with a Turkish actor that appear on the menu, on the desktop or even while watching a video, this article will help once and for all get rid of the problem. Dursun Tosun is not a virus, but part of Xiaomi's proprietary advertising system, integrated into MIUI and PatchWall firmware (for TV), but it can be turned off without root rights.
The manufacturer does not officially provide a direct feature to remove these ads, but there are workarounds – from simple tweaks to deep system changes. We tested all methods on current models from 2023-2026 (including Mi TV Q2 2026, Redmi Smart TV X, Xiaomi 13/14 and POCO F5) and selected only working solutions.
What is Dursun Tosun and Why it Appears on Xiaomi
Dursun Tosun is a character in a Turkish advertising campaign that Xiaomi is actively promoting in the CIS, Turkey and the Middle East.

The reason for this is Xiaomi’s aggressive monetization through firmware advertising, which contracts with brands (in this case, a Turkish carrier or streaming service) and introduces banners at the system level, unlike viruses: ads do not slow down the device or collect personal data, but they cannot be removed by standard means (for example, through “Ad Limitation” in Google settings).

Method 1: Disconnect via Xiaomi TV settings (without ADB)

- Open Settings → Accounts and Security → Advertising.
