How to log into the BIOS on Xiaomi devices: full instructions for laptops, TV and mini PCs

Signing into the BIOS (or its UEFI analog on modern devices) on Xiaomi equipment may be necessary to adjust equipment, change boot priority, update firmware or diagnose malfunctions. However, the process differs depending on the type of device: Mi Notebook laptops, Mi TV smart TVs or Mi Box mini PCs have different keyboard and menu combinations. In this article, we will discuss all the current ways to enter the BIOS for each category of Xiaomi equipment, including rare models and possible errors.

1. BIOS login on Xiaomi laptops (Mi Notebook, RedmiBook, Mi Gaming)

Xiaomi laptops are the only line of devices of the brand, where there is a classic BIOS/UEFI. The login process is standard for most Windows devices, but there are nuances with keys and time windows (2020 year and later) used UEFI with a graphical interface, on the old (up to) 2019) โ€” textual BIOS.

To log into the BIOS on a Xiaomi laptop:

3. Entrance to Recovery Mode on Xiaomi TVs (Mi TV, Redmi TV)

Xiaomi TVs (Mi TV 4/5/6, Redmi TV) do not have the classic BIOS, instead using Recovery Mode, an emergency mode for resetting, updating firmware or restoring the system, accessed through a combination of buttons on the remote or the TV itself.

To log in to Recovery Mode on Xiaomi Mi TV:

Newer models (e.g., Mi TV Q2 2023) may require an alternative combination of:

What happens if the Recovery Mode does not open?
If the TV doesnโ€™t respond to button combinations, try: 1. Use the original remote (not universal). 2. Connect the keyboard via Bluetooth and press Esc + Power when turned on. 3. Update the firmware via USB (instructions in section 5). 4. If the TV doesnโ€™t turn on at all โ€“ the problem may be in the power supply or motherboard.

4. Sign in to Fastboot Mode on Xiaomi Android devices (Mi Box, Mi Stick)

Android. TV-consoles (Mi Box S, Mi Box 4, Mi Stick) and some smart TVs instead of BIOS Fastboot Mode is a mode for firmware and recovery via PC, and you can log in in two ways:

Method 1: Through hardware buttons

Method 2: Through ADB-Team (for experienced users)

If the console is enabled, you can transfer it to Fastboot by the command:
