Why to disassemble the Xiaomi ceiling light and when it is necessary
Xiaomi ceiling fixtures, from budget Yeelight models to premium Mi LED Ceiling Light Pros, are notorious for reliability, but even they require maintenance.
First, to clean the internals, dust and insects accumulate over time on radiators and drivers, which leads to overheating and flickering; second, to replace LED modules, they become dim or fail over time; and finally, disassembly is necessary when upgrading, installing additional sensors (such as the Xiaomi Aqara) or switching to more powerful drivers.
It is important to understand that disassembling the light fixture will void the manufacturerβs warranty if it is still valid, but for models older than 2 years (the term of the standard Xiaomi warranty), this is the only way to bring the device back to life without buying a new one.
Preparation for disassembly: tools and security measures
Before you start, make sure you have everything you need, and the minimum set of tools includes:

Step 1: Remove the lamp from the ceiling

Step 2: Disassembly of the case and access to electronics

To separate them:

1. The lamp flashes or spontaneously turns off
The cause is usually poor contact or overheating.
