Xiaomi Mi A3 is a popular smartphone with a balance of price and quality, but even it is not immune to breakdowns. Does the screen respond to touch? Does the battery swell? Does the speaker wheez? In most cases, repair requires disassembling the device. However, improper disassembly can lead to damage to the plumes, disconnection of contacts or even complete failure of the phone.
This article will help you disassemble the Mi A3 yourself, minimizing the risks. We will describe each step in detail, from tool preparation to motherboard removal, point out hidden latches that often break newcomers, and give tips for reverse assembly. If you have never taken apart smartphones, carefully study all the warnings and photos!
Preparation for disassembly: tools and security measures
Before you start, make sure you have everything you need, and the lack of the right tools is the main cause of damage during disassembly.
- π§ Plastic mediators (2-3 Pc.) - for careful slinging of the lid and plumes.
- π¨ The screwdriver. PH00 β for screws A3 (common PH0 won't fit!).
- π± Suction - helps remove the display module after warming up.
- π₯ Dryer or thermo-air station - for softening the glue (temperature 60-80)Β°C).
- 𧴠Isopropyl alcohol 90%+ β cleaner.
- π¦ Container for screws - so as not to lose small parts (in Mi) A3 12 pieces!).
Also prepare the workplace:
- β Lighting β bright lamp or flashlight (better with a magnifying glass).
- β Antistatic mat or at least a wooden surface (not metal!).
- β Needle or tweezers - for careful tweezing of plumes.
β οΈ Warning: If you're disassembling a phone with a bloated battery, don't heat it up with a hair dryer - risk of ignition! First remove the battery at the service center.
Step 1: Removing the back cover
The back cover of the Xiaomi Mi A3 is attached to glue and latches. The main mistake of beginners is to try to tuck it on the side without warming up, which leads to cracks or chipped plastic.
- Turn off the phone and remove it. SIM-scatter-card.
- Warm up the perimeter with a hair dryer (30 to 40 seconds on each side). Don't direct the airflow to one place!
- Insert the plastic mediator into the gap between the lid and the case (start at the lower left corner where the SIM tray notch is located).
- Carefully drive the mediator along the edge, without going deeper than 2 mm - the plumes pass inside!
If the lid doesn't work, warm it up again. The Mi A3 has a hidden latch near the camera, which is easy to break if you pull the lid up, and you better take it off by moving "on yourself" rather than up.

Step 2: Shutting off the battery
Once you remove the lid, you'll see the battery covered with black film, and the first thing you need to do is disconnect it from the motherboard, or you risk short circuits as you disassemble it further.
The battery in the Mi A3 is glued, but the power plume is placed on top (near the camera).
- Put a black connector on a plastic mediator (not metal!).
- Carefully pull the plume up - it should come out effortlessly.
- Close the connector with tape so that you do not accidentally close the contacts during assembly.
β οΈ Warning: If the battery is swelling (as seen from the deformation of the lid), do not try to remove it yourself - contact the service!

Step 3: Removing the motherboard
The Mi A3 motherboard is mounted on 12 screws of different lengths, and mixing them up when you build them is a surefire way to damage the board, and we recommend taking a picture of each screw's location or putting them in order.
Procedure:
- Unscrew all screws (use the PH00 screwdriver).
- Disconnect the plumes: π Display plume (center, under metal cover). π Dynamic plume (bottom, next to the charging connector). π· The camera plumes (left, under black insulation).
Carefully tuck the board with a plastic mediator and lift it from the right side (there are no plumes).
| Type of screw | Number of | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Shortest (2.5 mm) | 4 pcs. | By the toll corners |
| Medium (3 mm) | 6 pcs. | Along the edges of the toll |
| Long (4 mm) | 2 pcs. | Next to the charging connector |
Don't pull the board by force -- if it doesn't come out, check if all the plumes are disconnected. The Mi A3 often forgets about the fingerprint sensor plume that goes under the battery.
π‘
Before removing the board, take a photo of it from both sides - this will help to connect all the plumes correctly during the reverse assembly.
Step 4: Disassembly of the display module
If you need to replace the screen, touchscreen or plume, you have to disassemble the display module. In the Mi A3, it consists of three parts:
- The protective glass (if cracked, removed first).
- Touchscreen (touch layer) - glued to the display.
- AMOLED-The matrix is the most fragile part.
- Install a new battery: π Check to have the same capacity (4030mAh for Mi) A3). π¨ Apply new glue (you can use bilateral scotch) 3M). π Connect the power plume and check charging before final assembly!
Do not use superglue or heat glue - they can damage the battery in the next repair.
Reverse Assembly: nuances and verification
Getting the Xiaomi Mi A3 back together is often harder than disassembling.
- π© Screw them in the same order as you screwed them out. Long screws in short holes will damage the board!
- πΆ Trains - make sure that they are not twisted and sat tightly in connectors.
- π Battery β before final assembly, connect the phone to charging and make sure it charges.
- π± Display β after assembly, check the touchscreen for βdead zonesβ (use the test in Settings). β Screen. β Touch test).
If the phone does not turn on after assembly:
- Check if the battery is connected.
- Make sure all plumes are connected (especially the display and power).
- Try to press the power button + increase the volume for 10-15 seconds (reset).
- Does the touchscreen work all over the edges?
- Is the battery charging?
- Do the speakers and microphone work?
If something doesnβt work, take the phone apart again and check the plumes.-->
