Xiaomi Redmi 9 Pro is a popular smartphone with a non-removable battery, but sometimes users need access to internal components: to replace the battery, clean connectors or repair plumes. The main problem is a plastic lid on latches and glue, which is easy to damage if you disassemble sloppy. In this article, we will analyze three officially approved methods of removing the lid, list the necessary tools and show how to avoid typical errors leading to cracks or damage to the plume of the fingerprint scanner.
Important: the procedure requires patience and accuracy. Even in Xiaomi service centers, the Redmi 9 Pro uses specialized suction cups and mediators to disassemble the Redmi 9 Pro - a regular screwdriver is not necessary. Preparation: tools and security
Before you start, make sure you have everything you need, and if you don't have even one tool, you can damage the latches or the display, and here's the minimum set.

- When resistance appears, do not push harder - try another angle or slightly heat the problem area with a lighter (for 5-10 seconds).

What to do if the lid is cracked?
Method 3: String disassembly (extreme)
This method is used in service centers for devices with heavily glued lids (for example, after falling into water).
- 🎸 Guitar string (thickness 0.2–0.3 mm) or fishing line.
- 🔪 Two plastic mediators for directing strings.
Technology:
- Squeeze the string between the lid and the frame at the USB-C connector.
- Keep the string tight and saw it along the body like a hacksaw. The string must run parallel to the screen without going inward.
- Check periodically if you have caught the snails.
⚠️ Attention: This method requires perfect precision. One wrong move will cut the charging plume or the antenna cable!
What to do after removing the cover
When the lid is finally removed, the Redmi 9 Pro’s internal structure will open up in front of you.
