When Xiaomi’s favorite smartphone suddenly stops responding to its usual behavior, it always catches you off guard, the screen lights up, the Mi or Redmi logo appears, but the boot process does not go on, or the device is endlessly rebooted, a state often called “cyclical reboot” or “bootloop,” which is a state of confusion at which point the user is confused, because there may be important contacts, photos and documents inside the device.
The reasons for this behavior can be many: from a banal failure in the MIUI operating system to serious hardware problems. Sometimes a simple reboot is enough, and in other cases, you need to intervene in system files through special modes.
In this article, we will look at all possible scenarios why Android doesn’t load to the end, and provide step-by-step troubleshooting instructions. We will look at both software solutions and situations where you can not do without a visit to the service center.
Primary diagnosis and forced reset
Before we get to the tricky manipulations, we need to rule out a temporary software failure. Often the operating system just hangs out in the service initialization process, and a standard press of the power button doesn't help, and in such cases, a forced reboot is required, which hardware opens the power circuit of the processor.
To do this, press the power button and hold it for 10-15 seconds. If the device does not respond, try a combination of the power button and the volume control (usually Volume minus). The screen should show a vibration or brand logo. If the phone loaded normally, the problem was one-time.
However, if the logo comes back after the vibration and the cycle repeats, then the problem is deeper. It is important to check the physical buttons: is the switch stuck? Often the protective case can press the key, causing a constant on/off signal. Remove the case and inspect the controls.
💡
Try connecting your phone to your computer through USB-If the PC makes a sound of the new device connecting, it means the motherboard is aalive, and the problem is probably software.
If the forced reboot fails, we'll go into a deeper analysis, and we need to understand where the failure occurs, right after the logo, after the Android label appears, or when the lock screen is turned on.
Why Xiaomi is going into an endless load
Understanding the root of the problem helps to choose the right treatment, most often users face the consequences of a failed system update, if the installation of a new version of MIUI lost electricity or interrupted the Internet connection, system files could be corrupted.
Another common cause is incompatibility of installed applications or malware. Sometimes even a single “curved” application that starts when the system starts can block further booting of the operating system, and it is worth remembering whether there have been recent manipulations with superuser rights (Root) or unlocking the bootloader.
- 📱 Update failure: Damage to the system partition during a firmware update.
- 🦠 Viruses and malware: Malware blocks the launch of critical Android services.
- 🔋 Battery problems: A worn-out battery can't give out the right current to start the processor.
- 💾 Overflowing memory: Critical lack of space in the system section prevents download.
Hardware problems can also be ignored: a smartphone drop, moisture or simply a manufacturing defect can lead to plumes leaving or damage to memory chips, in which cases software methods may be powerless.
Enter Recovery Mode and Reset Settings
If you can't boot normally, you can use Recovery Mode, which is a special partition on your phone that lets you control the system bypassing the main interface, and that's where you most often save the device.
To enter this mode, you need to turn off the phone completely (if it does not turn off, hold the power button until the screen is turned off). Then simultaneously press the power button and the volume button ("Loudness plus"). Hold them until the Mi logo appears, then release power, but continue to keep the volume.
You'll see a menu where you control volume buttons and you select power buttons, and you'll need to find Wipe Data, and you'll be careful, because this step will delete all the data.
⚠️ Warning: Wipe Data will completely destroy all your photos, contacts and apps. If you don't have a backup, you can't recover your data.
Once you have selected Wipe Data, confirm the action by selecting Wipe All Data. The system will warn you of the consequences again. Once the process is complete, select Reboot and then Reboot to System. The first download can take up to 10 minutes.
☑️ Checklist before reset
Using Fastboot and flashing the device
When Recovery doesn't work or access is blocked, Fastboot comes to the rescue, a low-level protocol that lets you interact with your phone directly through your computer, USB-cable and utility Mi Flash Tool or Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot Tools.
Enter Fastboot mode by holding both the power button and the volume down button (“Loudness minus”). A hare in a hat-eared hat repairing an android should appear on the screen. Connect the phone to your computer.
If a computer sees a device, you can try to clear the userdata partition with fastboot. This is analogous to resetting through Recovery, but often more reliable. Open the command line on your PC and type in:
fastboot erase userdataIf that doesn't work, you'll need a full flashing. You'll need to download the official firmware for your model from miui.com. It's important to choose Recovery (zip) or Fastboot (tgz) version depending on the method. When you run the Mi Flash Tool in Fastboot mode, select Clean All to avoid version conflicts.

Table of compatibility of decision methods
To make it easier for you to navigate your treatments, we've created a summary table that will help you determine which treatment is right for your case, based on your symptoms and the tools available.
| Symptoms. | Probable cause | Method of decision | Risk of data loss |
|---|---|---|---|
| A loop on the logo | System failure / Application | Recovery -> Wipe Data | High-pitched |
| Black screen after logo | Damage to system files | Fastboot -> Clean All | Complete. |
| Hanging on the Mi screen | Update error | Flashing (Mi Flash) | Complete. |
| It's warm and unloaded. | Hardware failure/KZ | Repairs at the service | Depends on the repairs. |
| Requires an account after reset | Protecting Mi Account | Password entry/check | No (if you remember the password) |
Note that after resetting your settings (Wipe Data) will work Mi Account protection. If you do not remember the password from the account to which the phone was attached, it will be extremely difficult to unlock it without a receipt for purchase.
Hardware problems: when software repairs are powerless
Sometimes, no matter how hard you run your phone, it keeps behaving incorrectly, which is a sure sign that the problem is in the hardware. The most common hardware cause is a failure of the drive (eMMC or UFS). During heavy use, the memory cell's life is depleted, and the phone goes into read-only mode, which blocks boot.
It's also worth checking the plumes, and if the phone is dropped, it could be that the plume of the display or the plume connecting the main board to the button boards is gone, and visually it might not be noticeable, but the contact will disappear when you heat it or vibrate it.
⚠️ Warning: If the phone gets too hot at the bottom of the case when you try to turn on, immediately stop trying to start. This may indicate a short circuit in the power supply, which can lead to a fire.
Another hidden enemy is the oxidation of contacts after moisture hits, and even if the phone fell into the water a week ago and seemed to work, corrosion could have reached important nodes right now, and in such cases ultrasonic cleaning at the service center is necessary.
💡
If you reset and flash it completely, it's the same, the problem is 99 percent hardware, and then you're wasting time and you're not doing it again.
Preventing and preserving data in the future
To prevent the phone from loading but not turning on again, it is important to follow digital hygiene rules: back up important data regularly, and in the Xiaomi ecosystem, this can be done via the Mi Cloud or locally on your computer.
Do not install applications from questionable sources. APK-files often contain code that may conflict with the system. Use only a proven Google Play store or GetApps.
Keep an eye on the space. If the phone's memory is full (less than 500 MB left), the system starts to work unstable. Clean the cache regularly and delete unnecessary files.
