When your favorite Xiaomi, Redmi or POCO smartphone suddenly refuses to respond to the power button, it causes panic in any owner: the screen remains black, there is no vibration, and the charging indicator does not light up, at which point it is important not to give in to emotions and act consistently, since in 80% of cases the device can be brought back to life without visiting the service center.
Before you look for complex solutions, you need to eliminate trivial power problems. Often the phone just "sleeps" due to a deep discharge or a short-term freeze system that requires a forced reboot. Understanding the nature of the malfunction is the first step to successfully restore the gadget.
In this article, we will look at all possible scenarios, from software failures to physical damage to the motherboard, how to log into Recovery Mode, why you need Fastboot mode, and in which cases self-repair can finally finish the device.
Primary Diagnosis and Nutrition Testing
The most common cause of smartphone death is a critical battery drain: If the device has been off for a long time, the chemical processes inside the battery may have slowed down, and it can't give up current to start the system. Connect the original power supply and cable, leaving the phone to charge for at least 30-40 minutes, even if the screen is not showing signs of life.
Note the notification indicator. Many Xiaomi models have LED lights on when charging (usually orange or white) if the indicator flashes but the phone doesn't turn on, that's a good sign that the power supply is intact, and the problem is likely software. If there is no reaction at all, try replacing the cable or power supply with a known serviceable one.

Display and matrix problems
Sometimes the phone works fine: you hear notifications, you hear vibrations when you call, but the screen stays completely black, and that's a classic sign of a failure of the display matrix or the plume connecting the screen to the board, and you can check that by calling the device number from another phone.
If the call passes but the image is not, try flashlighting the screen from different angles. If you see a barely noticeable image, then the backlight is burned. In modern Xiaomi smartphones with AMOLED screens, replacing the display is often the only solution, since they come with modules.
