The DF-DFERH-01 error in the Google Play Market is one of the most common problems for owners of Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones, blocking downloads and updates of applications, displaying a message that you can not connect to Google servers, and sometimes even making the store unusable. Unlike other error codes (for example, DF-DLA-15 or RPC:AEC:0), this problem is most often associated with conflicts between Google services and MIUI firmware.
According to statistics from Xiaomi Community, up to 12% of users experience this error after updating their firmware or resetting settings, and it appears equally often on flagships (Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 14) and budget models (Redmi Note 12, POCO X5). In this article, we will discuss all the current ways to fix, including hidden MIUI settings that are not described in the official documentation.
What is the DF-DFERH-01 error and why does it appear?
Code. DF-DFERH-01 It stands for Download Failed: Error Retrieving Information from Server, as opposed to similar errors (e.g., server data, DF-DFERH-02, cache-related problem, this indicates a systemic conflict between:
- ๐น Google Play Services (in particular, Google Play Services and Google Services Framework)
- ๐น Firmware MIUI (especially after updating or rooting)
- ๐น Google account settings (synchronization, permissions)
- ๐น Device Date/Time (Dismatch with Google Servers)
On Xiaomi smartphones, the bug often arises from aggressive MIUI power optimization, which forcibly shuts down the background processes of Google Play Services. Regional binding may also be the culprit (for example, if the device is bought in China and the Google account is registered in Russia).
โ ๏ธ Note: If the error occurred after installing custom firmware (e.g. Pixel Experience or LineageOS), the reason may be the lack of certification Google Mobile Services (GMS). In this case, reflashing is required using the official GApps package.
Method 1: Resetting Google Play cache and data
This is the first thing to try, and in 60 percent of cases, the error disappears after the temporary files are cleared.
- Open Settings โ Applications โ Application Management.
- Find the Google Play Store (not to be confused with Google Play Services!).
- Slip on the Warehouse โ Clear the cache and Clear the data.
- Repeat steps 2โ3 for applications: ๐ Google Play Services ๐ Google Play Services for MIUI (if) ๐ Google Services Framework
Reboot your smartphone.
After the reboot, check the Play Market. If the error persists, proceed to the next method.

Method 2: Delete and Re-Affiliate Google Account
Sometimes, the DF-DFERH-01 error is associated with a corrupted account sync.
- Go to Settings โ Accounts and Sync โ Google.
- Select your account and click Delete account (donโt be afraid โ the data will not be lost).
- After removing, restart the phone.
- Go back to Settings โ Accounts and add a Google account again.
- When you first enter the Play Market, confirm the terms of use.
If the error persists, check if two-factor authentication is enabled in your Google account, sometimes blocking services on new devices, to unlock:
- ๐ Go to Google Security Page from PC.
- ๐ In the Devices section, find your Xiaomi and confirm it as trusted.
- ๐ If required, enter a code from SMS Google Authenticator Apps.
๐ก
If Play Market has stopped opening after deleting your account, install it again via APKMirror (download only versions signed by Google LLC).
Method 3: Changing the region and language of the system
The DF-DFERH-01 error often occurs because of a mismatch between the regional settings of your device and your Google account, such as if you bought Xiaomi in China and use a Russian account.
- Open Settings โ Additional โ Language and Region.
- Set the region in the same country as your main Google account (e.g., Russia or the United States).
- In the Language section, select English (USA) or Russian.
- Reboot the phone.
If the Play Market doesnโt work after the region change, try changing the DNS:
- ๐ Go to Settings. โ Wi-Fi โ Additionally. โ Settings IP.
- ๐ Select Static and enter DNS: 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS) 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare)
| Region of device | Region of Google Account | Probability of error | Decision |
|---|---|---|---|
| China | Russia/Europe | 90% | Change the region to the US or Hong Kong |
| Global version (Global ROM) | Anybody. | 10% | Cleaning the cache (Method 1) |
| India (India ROM) | Europe | 50% | Change region to India or delete your account |
| Europe | USA | 30% | Add a second account with the European Region |
Method 4: Update Google Play Services manually
On Xiaomi smartphones, Google services are often delayed or blocked by the system, and are forced to update them:
- Download the latest version of Google Play Services from the official APKMirror website (choose the option for your architecture: arm64, armeabi-v7a or x86).
- Before installing, remove the previous version: adb uninstall com.google.android.gms (if there is no ADB, skip this step).
- Set up the downloaded one. APK-file and reload the phone.
After the update, check out the version of Google Play Services:
- ๐ฑ Open the Settings. โ Annexes โ Google Play Services.
- ๐ฑ The current version will be displayed at the bottom of the screen (e.g. 23.30.14).
- ๐ฑ Compare it to the last one on the official page.
โ ๏ธ Warning: If Play Market stopped opening after manual update, delete the updates for it (Settings) โ Annexes โ Google Play Market โ โฎ โ Remove updates and wait for automatic update.
Method 5: Turning off battery optimization for Google services
MIUI aggressively closes the background processes to save power, which may cause Google Play Services to fail to sync with servers, causing the DF-DFERH-01 error to fix:
- Go to Settings โ Battery and Performance โ Battery Optimization.
- Select All Apps and Find: ๐ Google Play Services ๐ Google Play Market ๐ Google Play Services for MIUI
No restrictions.

Then restart your phone and check the Play Market. If you still have a problem, try turning off the power saving mode:
- โก Include Performance in Settings โ Battery.
- โก Disconnect the Adaptive Battery and Optimization MIUI.

Method 6: Reset network settings and date/time
Incorrect network settings or a lost date/time may cause conflicts with Google servers.
- Resetting the network: ๐ถ Go to Settings. โ SIM-maps and mobile networks โ Resetting network settings. ๐ถ Confirm the reset and restart the phone.
- Date/time adjustment: ๐ Open the Settings. โ Additionally. โ Date and time. ๐ Turn it off automatically (if enabled). ๐ Manually set the correct date, time and time zone. ๐ Turn it back on automatically.
If the DF-DFERH-01 error persists, try changing the network type:
- ๐ก Switch from 4G on 3G (vice versa).
- ๐ก Turn off VoLTE and VoWiFi in the settings SIM-map.
- ๐ก If you use Wi-Fi, connect to another network (e.g., a mobile access point).
๐ก
In 20% of cases, the DF-DFERH-01 error is due to an incorrect time zone, especially after flights or manual time changes.
Method 7: Reinstall Google Play Market (last chance)
If none of this works, then you have to completely reinstall Play Market and related services, which works even on custom firmware, but requires care.
Instructions:
- Download the latest versions APK-files with APKMirror: ๐ฆ com.android.vending (Google Play Market) ๐ฆ com.google.android.gms (Google Play Services) ๐ฆ com.google.android.gsf (Google Services Framework)
ADB
Titanium Backup
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.vending
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.gms
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.gsfAPK
Framework โ Services โ Market
Restart your phone and wait for the initial sync (it can take up to 10 minutes).
If the Play Market gives an error RPC:S-7:AEC-0 after reinstalling, then the problem is the lack of GMS certification.
- ๐ง You can check the certification on Google (enter the certificate). IMEI device).
- ๐ง If the device is not certified, register it manually through the Google Form (required) IMEI and serial number).
