Xiaomiโs Mi Cloud cloud storage is not just a backup location, but a full-fledged service for syncing contacts, photos, notes, and even device settings. However, many users face difficulties when logging in first or after resetting their phone. In this article, weโll look at all the current ways to log in to Mi Cloud, including browser sign-in, mobile app, and smartphone settings, and solve typical access problems.
Xiaomiโs peculiarity is that without being tied to the Mi Cloud, some features (such as finding a lost phone or recovering data) become unavailable, while the login process itself may differ depending on the model (Redmi Note 12, POCO X5, Xiaomi 13T) version MIUI. We have taken into account all the nuances and collected universal instructions that work on devices 2020-2026.

- ๐ Automatically reserve Wi-Fi settings, wallpaper and applications;
- ๐ Use two-factor authentication for your Xiaomi account.

2.The device does not connect to the Mi Cloud
If the data is not synced after logging in or a โNo Cloud Connectionโ notification appears, follow the following steps:
| Problem. | Decision |
|---|---|
| There's no Internet. | Connect to Wi-Fi or check your mobile data |

3. Two-factor authentication and other locks
If the system requires a code from SMS or an authenticator application, but you donโt get it:
- Check if your operator is blocking your SMS from short numbers (for example, +86... for China).
- Make sure the phone has the correct date and time (automatic determination).
- If you use an authenticator application (like Google Authenticator), check the timing in its settings.
If you lose access to two-factor authentication, you can only restore it through Xiaomi support by providing:
- IMEI device;
- A check of purchase;
- Passport data (for identification).
๐ก
Never share backup two-factor authentication codes! compromised can result in account theft and locking all Xiaomi devices.
Set up data synchronization in Mi Cloud
After a successful login, it is important to properly configure what data will be backed up in the cloud. By default, Xiaomi includes synchronizing almost everything that can lead to a quick filling of the free 5 GB.
1. Selection of data for backup
Go to Settings. โ Mi Cloud โ Backup and mark only the necessary items:

- ๐ง System settings - saves wallpaper, Wi-Fi settings and applications.

Automatic synchronization works once a day, but sometimes you need to save data immediately.
- Open the Settings. โ Mi Cloud โ Backup;
- Click Create a backup copy;
- Select the data to copy and confirm.
The process can take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes depending on the amount of data you have, so don't interrupt the copying, otherwise the files might get corrupted, and progress is displayed in the status bar.
3.Manage photos in the cloud
Photos take up the lion's share of the vault, to optimize the space:
- ๐ผ๏ธ Enable Storage Optimization in Mi Cloud settings โ this will save previews on your phone, and leave the originals in the cloud;
- ๐๏ธ Clean the Recycle Bin folder regularly (files are stored there for 30 days);
