Owning a Xiaomi smartphone doesn’t mean abandoning the Apple ecosystem altogether. Many users are switching to Android, but retain an attachment to an Apple ID account to store important data, photos or use purchased apps. Signing into iCloud from an Android device is quite feasible, although the functionality will be different from the native experience on the iPhone.
The main tool for access is the web browser. Apple has developed a full-fledged web version of its cloud storage that correctly displays on the Chromium and Blink engines used in the MIUI and HyperOS shell. You do not need complex emulators or rooting access rights, a fairly stable Internet connection.
There are some nuances to be aware of, though, and some features, such as system-wide backups or real-time password sync, are only available in iOS-iCloud, but the web interface is ideal for viewing photos, documenting and managing contacts.
The official method through the browser
The most reliable and secure way to access your data is to use the official website. Open any modern browser on your Xiaomi, such as Chrome, Firefox or the standard Mi Browser.
The system will automatically detect that you are logged in from a mobile device, and offer authorization. Enter your Apple ID and password. If you have two-factor protection enabled, another Apple device will receive a confirmation code that you will need to enter in the field on the smartphone screen.
⚠️ Note: When logging in from a new device or browser, Apple's security system may request a confirmation of trust. Don't ignore this step, as without it, access to data will be restricted.
Once you've logged in, you'll see a grid of apps, where you can get Photos, Contacts, Notes and other services, and the interface is touch-sensitive, so tapam and swipe navigation is as smooth as a native app.
For ease of use on the big screen of a tablet or when connecting your smartphone to a monitor, you can request the full version of the site. To do this, select the option “PC version” or “Full version” from the browser menu. This will expand the functionality, but can make the controls small for the finger.

One of the most popular features when switching from iPhone to Xiaomi is to transfer contacts. iCloud's web-interface allows you not only to view but also to manage your phone book. Go to Contacts to see the entire list of saved numbers.
For mass data export, highlight all contacts by pressing the keyboard or through the selection menu (if available in the mobile version), and select the export option in vCard format. The resulting.vcf file can be easily imported into the Contacts app on Android or downloaded through a Google account.
Similarly, calendar synchronization works. All events created on the iPhone will be displayed in the web version. You can create new appointments directly from Xiaomi's phone, and they will automatically appear on an iPad or Mac if the device is connected to the network.

It’s worth noting that the automatic background synchronization in real time, as it works on iOS, will not be here. You will have to periodically open the browser and update the page to see current data, this limitation is due to the closedness of Apple protocols for third-party OSes.
Working with iCloud Drive and Documents
iCloud Drive Cloud Storage functions like a regular file manager, and through your browser, you access folders created by various apps on Apple devices, which is convenient for students and office workers working in a mixed ecosystem.
You can upload files from a Xiaomi phone to the Apple cloud. To do this, in the iCloud Drive interface, click the download button (usually the cloud icon with an arrow up) and select a document from Xiaomi's internal memory. The file will instantly become available on all devices associated with this Apple ID.

It’s important to remember the file format. Apple is actively using the HEIC format for photos and Pages/Numbers for documents. When downloading on Android, some files can be automatically converted, but for iWork documents it is better to have installed office suites or use online converters.

Access to photos and video archive
The Photos section of the iCloud web version is a full-fledged gallery, which displays all the images, including those stored in My Photo Stream and the main library, and the viewing quality depends on the speed of the Internet connection, as the images are streamed.
You can create albums, add favorites, and even delete non-creature footage directly from the Xiaomi screen. Changes sync instantly. If you delete a photo on Android, it will disappear from the gallery on the iPhone, so be careful when cleaning the storage.
It can take time to download video files. Larger 4K videos require a stable Wi-Fi connection. Mobile Internet can be consumed very quickly, so it is recommended to use a home network for operations with heavy media content.

Third-party applications and their limitations

Some Android smartphone makers are embedding cloud services into their shells, but Xiaomi relies on standard browser tools in global firmware versions. Using third-party customers carries security risks as you share your credentials with third parties.

The only exception is the Apple Music app. If you’re a music subscriber, you can install it on Xiaomi, log in with your Apple ID, and access all of your media library, playlists, and tracks uploaded to iCloud.
Solutions and security concerns
When you sign in to iCloud with Android, you may be notified that the browser is not supported, usually by clearing the browser cache or switching the site to PC Version, and using Incognito also helps.
Account security is priority number one. Apple sends a notification every time you sign in from a new device. If you see a login request but haven't tried to log in, change your password immediately. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a must-have security feature.
