Xiaomi TVs (Mi TV, Redmi TV, Xiaomi TV A) are based on Android TV or PatchWall, but even with them, users often face problems when trying to launch YouTube. The application may be absent from the menu, not open due to regional restrictions or require additional settings. It’s important to understand that the algorithm depends on the firmware version and the TV model. For example, on Mi TV 4S (2018-2020), YouTube is pre-installed, but may not be updated, and on the new Xiaomi TV A Pro (2023-2026) it has to be installed manually through Google Play.
If you have already tried standard methods and received an error such as "YouTube is not supported on this device" or "Service is not available in your region", do not rush to reset the settings. Most likely, the problem is solved in 5 minutes - you just need to choose the right way from our instructions.
1. Method: Standard installation via Google Play
The easiest method is to download YouTube from the official Google Play Store.It works on most Xiaomi models with Android TV 9.0 and later (for example, Mi TV 4A, Redmi Smart TV X, Xiaomi TV Q2). If your TV has a Play Store icon on your TV, follow this instruction:
- 📺 Turn on the TV and connect to the Internet (via Wi-Fi or cable).
- 🔍 Open Google Play (the icon of the color triangle in the app menu).
- 🔎 In the search bar, enter YouTube and select the official app from Google. LLC.

If the Set button is inactive or it displays "Incompatible with your device" instead, your TV model is not officially supported, in which case move on to the next method.

If the previous methods did not work, you can install YouTube through the APK-This is a way to do it for all models, including TVs without Google Play:
