Xiaomiโs GetApps app store is an alternative to Google Play, which offers exclusive apps, themes and games optimized for MIUI-based devices. However, many users face the problem: Once you update the system or reset the GetApps icon disappears from the desktop, and you canโt find it in the app menu. In this article, we will discuss all the current ways to return the store to Redmi, POCO and other Xiaomi smartphones, including hidden settings and bypassing regional restrictions.
It is important to understand that the lack of GetApps is not always due to a system error. In some regions (e.g. Europe), Xiaomi defaults to hide this service due to local Google policies. But even in such cases it can be activated manually - it does not require root access or complex manipulation. Next, we will consider methods from the simplest (check hidden applications) to advanced (change region through ADB).
Why did GetApps go missing on Xiaomi?
Before we rebuild the store, we'll figure out why it disappeared, and here are the most common scenarios.
- ๐ Update MIUI: After installing the new firmware version, some system applications (including GetApps) may be disabled by default.
- ๐ Regional restrictions: On devices with firmware for Europe (EEA) The Global version of the store is often hidden due to agreements with Google.
- ๐งน Reset: After hard reset, some apps donโt automatically recover.
- ๐ ๏ธ Manual Shutdown: User could accidentally deactivate GetApps in app settings.
- ๐ฆ Removal through ADB: When cleaning the system from "garbage" some remove the system APK, shop.
If your smartphone falls under one of these cases, donโt worry โ in 90% of situations GetApps can be returned without losing data. Except for custom firmware devices (such as LineageOS), where Xiaomiโs branded services may be completely absent.
Method 1: Checking Hidden Applications
Most often, GetApps isn't deleted, it's just hidden from the display.
- Open Settings โ Applications โ Application Management.
- Slip on three dots in the upper right corner and select Show All Apps.
- In the search box, type GetApps or App Market (the name may vary depending on the version of MIUI).
- If the app is found, tap on it and select Show on the home screen.
If GetApps appears in the list but doesnโt start, try:
- ๐ Clear the cache and application data (in the same control menu).
- ๐ง Update via Google Play (if available) or APKMirror.
- ๐ฅ Reinstall through Settings โ Annexes โ GetApps โ Remove updates (if the button is active).

If you donโt find GetApps or App Market, try entering the Chinese name of the store โ Yรฌngyรฒng Shฤngdiร n.
Method 2: Enable via MIUI settings
In some versions of MIUI (especially 13 and 14), GetApps is hidden in additional settings to activate it:
- Go to Settings. โ The phone.
- Tap the MIUI version 7-10 times until the message โYouโre a developer!โ appears.
- Return to the main settings menu and open Additional โ Special features โ Functions for developers.
- Find the option to Show System Apps (or Show System Apps) and enable it.
- Reset the device.
After the reboot, check:
- ๐ Has the GetApps icon appeared in the app menu.
- ๐ฑ Whether it appears in the list of all applications (see Method 1).
โ๏ธ Preparation for activation of GetApps
If this method didnโt work, you may have a limited-function Global ROM installed on your device, which can help you change the region of the system (see the next section).
Method 3: Change region to unlock GetApps
On devices with firmware for Europe (EEA) or India, GetApps is often disabled by default, and to unlock it, you need to change the region to China, Russia or Indonesia (where the store operates without restrictions), and you can do this in two ways:
Method 1: Through MIUI settings (without ADB)
This method works on MIUI 12-14 and does not require a PC connection.
- Open the Settings. โ Additionally. โ Region.
- Choose China, Russia or Indonesia.
- Confirm the change and restart the device.
- After the reboot, check for GetApps in the app menu.
Method 2: ADB (for experienced users)
If changing the region in the settings did not help, use the ADB command:
adb shell settings put global region CNWhere CN is the Chinese code.
- ๐ท๐บ RU โ Russia
- ๐ฎ๐ฉ ID โ Indonesia
- ๐ฎ๐ณ IN โ India (not always working)
After you execute the command, restart your smartphone. If GetApps doesn't show up, try resetting the app further through Settings โ Apps โ GetApps โ Reset.
What if the store does not work after the change of region?
Method 4: Install the APK manually
If none of the previous methods worked, you have to install GetApps as a regular application.
- Download the current version of APK from an official source (for example, APKCombo or APKMirror).
- Allow installation from unknown sources: Settings โ Applications โ Special Access โ Install unknown applications.
- Install the downloaded file com.xiaomi.market-XXX.apk.
- After installation, restart the device.
Warning: Install only APKs from trusted sources! Fake versions of GetApps may contain malicious code. Before installing, check the hash file (for example, via VirusTotal) and compare it to official data on Xiaomi forums.

Even after successful activation of GetApps, errors can occur, and letโs consider the most common and ways to fix them:
| Problem. | Reason. | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| No loading of content | Regional restrictions or IP blocking | Use a VPN (such as Warp or ProtonVPN) with servers in China/Singapore |
| Error "Service unavailable" | An outdated version of the app | Update via APK or clear application data |
| You can't download apps. | No authorization in the Mi Account | Log in to Xiaomi account and link the device |

If none of the methods worked, check:
- ๐ก Internet connection (sometimes GetApps doesn't work over mobile data - try Wi-Fi).
- โณ Date and time (incorrect settings can block access to Xiaomi servers).
- ๐ root rights (on rooted devices, some system applications may not work).

If GetApps still doesnโt start, try installing an alternative launcher (like Nova Launcher) โ sometimes the standard MIUI launcher hides system applications.
