How to Remove a Task in Xiaomi Calendar: The Complete Guide

Users of Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones often face the need to clean up the scheduler, but the standard interface is not always obvious. Deleting a task or an entire event may be required both to clear history and to correct synchronization errors. With MIUI and the new HyperOS, the logic of working with time widgets is slightly different from pure Android, which raises questions for beginners.

Before we start taking drastic measures, it is important to identify the source of the problem: it can be a local record, an event from a Google account, an app notification or a system holiday, deleting the parent calendar will automatically erase all the events contained in it, without the possibility of recovery through the basket, be careful when choosing an object to delete, so as not to lose important data.

Removal of a single event in the standard annex

The most common scenario is to remove one particular meeting or reminder. In Xiaomi's standard Calendar app, the algorithm is intuitive, but requires an accurate hit on the editing menu. You can't just swipe the entry in the list, you have to open the details.

Find the date you want in your monthly or weekly view and click on the event itself. A card will open with details of all available actions. In the upper or lower right corner of the screen (depending on the version of MIUI) is the basket icon or the three-dot menu, and that's where the delete function is hidden.

Cleaning up Chinese holidays and extra subscriptions

One of the most annoying features of Xiaomi’s global firmware is the presence of Chinese holidays, which are included in the display by default.They are not deleted as normal events, as they are part of the system’s holiday calendar.

To get rid of them, you don't have to delete the calendar itself, just change its display settings. Open the Calendar app, click on the menu and find "Holidays" or "Holidays." Uncheck the box on "Chinese Holidays" or select "Russia"/"Ukraine"/"Kazakhstan" region depending on your location.
