Tired of unnecessary charges for subscriptions to Xiaomi Cloud, Mi Video or third-party services through Mi Account? Many users do not even suspect that their smartphone automatically renews paid services until they see an unexpected payment in the statement. In this article, we will discuss all possible ways to remove subscriptions on Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO devices, including hidden settings and nuances for different regions.
The problem is that Xiaomi uses multiple subscription systems: its own (Mi Account), Google Play, and integrated banking services (such as Sberbank Online or Tinkoff), while the subscription management interface may vary depending on the version of MIUI, phone model, and country of purchase, and we have compiled current instructions for MIUI 14/15 and showed how to avoid typical cancellation errors.
1. How to check active subscriptions to Xiaomi
Before you delete your subscriptions, you need to understand what services are active on your device, and Xiaomi can do this in three ways:
- ๐ฑ Through phone settings: go to Settings โ Accounts and synchronization โ Mi Account โ Subscription management. This displays all services tied to your Xiaomi profile.
- ๐ณ In the banking application: open the payment history and find regular write-offs with notes XIAOMI*, MIPAY or GOOGLE*.
- ๐ On Mi Account: log in to account.xiaomi.com, go to Subscriptions and Services.
Note that some subscriptions (such as Mi Cloud Premium) may be linked to Google Play, even if you paid for them through Mi Account, in which case they must be canceled separately, as we will discuss in the next section.
If you didn't find a subscription in the settings, but the write-offs are ongoing, check:
- ๐ Hidden services from a telecom operator (sometimes Xiaomi partners with mobile providers to automatically activate trial periods).
- ๐ฎ In-game purchases at Mi Game Center or Google Play Games.
- ๐บ Subscriptions TV-services (e.g. Mi services) TV+), If you have a smart TV Xiaomi.
2. Delete subscriptions through Mi Account (official method)
This is the main method for canceling services purchased directly from Xiaomi. MIUI 14/15 and all models Xiaomi/Redmi/POCO:
- Open the settings on your phone.
- Go to Accounts and Synchronization โ Mi Account.
- Put it on your profile (email or phone number).
- Choose Subscription Management (or Mi Services in older versions).
- Find an active subscription in the list and click on it.
- Choose Unsubscribe or Disable Auto Renewal.
- Confirm the action by SMS or password from Mi Account.
If the Subscription Management option is not on the menu, try an alternative path:
Settings โ Apps โ Application Management โ Three dots (โฎ) โ Show system โ Mi Account โ Storage โ Subscription Managementโ๏ธ Preparation for cancellation of subscription
โ ๏ธ Attention! After cancellation, the subscription will remain active until the end of the paid period. For example, if you disabled the Mi Cloud Premium on the 15th and the payment was before the 30th, access to the premium features will remain until the 30th inclusive.
3.Cancel subscriptions via Google Play (if payment was made through it)
Many users confuse Xiaomi and Google Play subscriptions, especially if the purchase was made through the Mi App Store, but the payment was made through Google.
- Open the Google Play app.
- Slip on the profile avatar in the upper right corner.
- Select Payments and Subscriptions โ Subscriptions.
- Find a subscription list marked Xiaomi or Mi (such as Mi Video Premium).
- Click on the subscription and select Cancel.
If the list does not have the necessary subscription, but the write-offs continue:
- ๐ Check out other Google accounts that may have been linked to your phone.
- ๐ง Find the Google Play check email in the mail โ there will be a link to manage your subscription.
- ๐ป Go to the Google subscription page via browser.
What to do if the subscription is not canceled?
One important caveat: some subscriptions (such as Mi Fitness Premium for Mi Band) may be linked to both Mi Account and Google Play at the same time, in which case they must be canceled on both services, otherwise auto-renewal will continue.
4. Deletion of subscriptions through banking services
If you paid for your subscription with a bank card (for example, through Sberbank Online or Tinkoff), it can be canceled directly from a mobile bank.
- ๐ฐ Regular payments on a card marked XIAOMI* or MIPAY.
- ๐ฑ Subscriptions for services purchased through Mi Pay.
- ๐ Test periods that automatically go into paid periods.
Instructions for popular banks:
| Bank | The Way to Subscription | Features |
|---|---|---|
| Sberbank | Sberbank Online โ Payments โ My Auto Payments | Look for payments called XIAOMI or MI CLOUD. Cancellation is possible 3 days before the charge. |
| Tinkoff | Payments โ Regular payments โ Regular payments | Subscriptions from Xiaomi can be in the Others section or Games and Entertainment. |
| VTB | VTB Online โ Payments โ My templates | It is recommended to disable all templates with MIPAY, even if the name is unclear. |
| Alfa-Bank | Alpha Click โ Payments โ My Auto Payments | Subscriptions can be duplicated โ delete all records with the same recipient. |
โ ๏ธ Canceling autopayment at the bank does not mean cancelling your subscription from Xiaomi. You still need to delete it through Mi Account or Google Play, otherwise after the current period, access to the service is blocked, but the money can be re-written on the next payment.
5. Hidden subscriptions: where else to look for them
Even after checking all the obvious locations, subscriptions can remain active, and here's where else to look:
- ๐ฎ Mi Game Center: Some games (such as Black Shark or Mi Racing) have their own premium accounts. โ My subscriptions are in-game.
- ๐บ Mi TV/Mi Box: If you have a smart TV or Xiaomi console, subscribe to Mi TV+ Netflix can be linked to a device, not an account.
- ๐ฑ Duplicate accounts: If you changed Mi Account, old subscriptions could have stayed on your previous profile. โ Accounts.
- ๐ Regional services: In some countries (e.g. India, Indonesia), Xiaomi offers local subscriptions (e.g. Mi Music or Mi Live) that may not appear in the global version of Mi Account.
You can also use hidden subscriptions to find:
Settings โ Apps โ Application Management โ Three dots (โฎ) โ Show system โ Search by keywords: "subscribe", "payment", "premium"๐ก
If you are not sure which subscription is debiting money, take a screenshot of the payment history of the last 3 months and search the Internet for service names by debit codes (for example, MI*CloudPremium).
6 What to do if the subscription is not canceled
Sometimes, users are faced with a situation where the subscription continues to write off money despite all attempts to cancel it.
- Check the cache and app data: Go to Settings โ Apps โ Mi Account. Press Storage โ Clear cache and data. Restart your phone and try again to cancel.
- Reset Mi Account settings: In Settings โ Accounts โ Mi Account, select Exit. Delete your account from your device and log in again.
- Contact us for support: Write to Xiaomi official support with the words: Phone models, screenshot of active subscription, checks about payment (if any).
Urgent: Unauthorized Subscription
If you have signed up for a subscription via Google Play but are not cancelled:
- ๐ง Write in support of Google with the Unwanted Subscription theme.
- ๐ Attach a screenshot of the check from the mail and the history of payments from the bank.
- ๐ Try canceling your subscription via Google Pay (sometimes hidden payments are displayed there).
๐ก
If the subscription was activated by fraudsters (for example, through a phishing application), immediately block the card in the bank and change the password from Mi Account. Xiaomi does not refund money for such charges, but you can challenge the payment through the bank.
7.How to avoid accidental subscriptions in the future
To avoid unexpected write-offs, follow these rules:
- ๐ Disable saving of payment data: in Mi Account: Settings โ Payments โ Save maps โ Delete all maps. Google Play: Settings โ Auto-filling โ Payments โ Turn off saving payment methods.
- ๐ฑ Use virtual cards to pay for subscriptions (like Tinkoff or Revolut) and can be blocked in one click.
- โฑ Set up write-off notifications in the banking app to see new payments immediately.
- ๐ Check application permissions before installing. If a game or utility requests access to Subscription Management, it's suspicious.
Be especially careful with:
- ๐ Trial periods: Many Xiaomi services (such as Mi Cloud or Mi Video) offer 7-30 days free of charge, but automatically renew your subscription unless you cancel it in advance.
- ๐ฎ Game offers: Mi Game Center often meet "profitable" packages with auto-renewal.
- ๐ฑ Offers from the operator: sometimes Xiaomi partners with mobile providers to automatically activate services (for example, Mi Music for 1 ruble per day).
๐ก
In Mi Account settings, you can enable two-factor authentication for payments. Go to Settings โ Security โ Two-step verification for payments.
