How to remove reminders in Xiaomi calendar: all ways to MIUI 12/13/14

On Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones, the standard Calendar app is integrated into the MIUI shell and syncs with the Mi Account. Sometimes users face a problem: they have created a one-time reminder of a meeting or event, and it continues to appear in notifications even after the date. Or, conversely, they urgently need to cancel a planned event, but do not know how to do it through the interface.

In this article, we will look at all possible ways to remove reminders, from basic removal through the application to resetting sync with the cloud, focus on the nuances for different versions of MIUI (12, 13, 14) and smartphone models, and find out why reminders sometimes return after removal and how to fix it.

If you use a Google calendar instead of the standard one from Xiaomi, the instructions will be different — we will talk about this in a separate section.

📊 What calendar do you use on Xiaomi?

I don't use a calendar.

1. Removal of reminders through the Calendar app

The most obvious way is to delete the event directly in the application, but MIUI may differ depending on the firmware version.

1. Open the Calendar app (the date icon on the home screen or in the app menu).

2. Find an event with a reminder:

In MIUI 12/13, events are displayed as a list by date.

MIUI 14 can have a “Day/Week/Month” view – select the convenient mode in the top panel.

3.Click on the event to open his card.

Here are two options for the development of events:

  • 🗑️ If the event is a one-time event (e.g., "Buy tickets for May 15"), the button at the bottom of the card will be "Delete.
  • 🔄 If the event is recurring (e.g., “Salary every 5th day of the month”), the option will appear “Delete only this event” or “Delete all events in the series.

⚠️

Attention: B MIUI 14 on some models (Xiaomi 13 Pro, Redmi Note 12) the button "Delete" may be hidden under the menu «⋮» (three dots) in the top right corner of the event card. Don't look for it at the bottom, the developers moved it there in the latest updates.

After deleting, check if the reminder has disappeared from the list in the Reminders section (the bell icon in the bottom menu of the app). If not, proceed to the next method.

2. How to remove a reminder through a notification

If the event has already passed, but the notification is still hanging in the curtain, you can delete it directly from there without running the calendar. MIUI:

1. Swipe your finger down from the top edge of the screen to open the notification panel.

2. Find a notification from the Calendar with the text of the reminder.

3. swipe it left or right (depending on the gesture settings).

4. In the menu that appears, select “Delete” (basket) or “Cancel” (if the notification is active).

🔹 Important: This method only deletes the notification itself, not the event from the calendar. If the reminder is repeated, it will reappear at the appointed time.

⚠️

Warning: On the POCO F4 and Redmi K50 with MIUI 13.5+, a pop-up may appear after the notification is swiped asking “Delete the event from the calendar?”.

Do you need to save information about the event (take a photo or copy the text)|

Check if the event is related to other calendars (Google, Outlook)|

Make sure you delete the exact event (sometimes the names are similar)|

After deleting, restart your smartphone if the reminder remains.-->

3. Delete via synchronization with Mi Account

If the reminder is deleted but continues to appear after the device is restarted, the problem may be syncing with the Mi Account cloud, in which case you need to clear the cache or disable sync:

1. Go to Settings → Accounts and Sync → Mi Account.

2.Look for the item "Data Synchronization" and turn off the slider next to the "Calendar".

3. Wait 10-15 seconds and turn the sync back on.

If that didn't help:

  • 📱 Go to Settings. → Annexes → Application management.
  • 🔍 Find the “Calendar” in the list and select it.
  • 🧹 Click on Clear Cache and Clear Data (Warning: This will delete all local events!).
  • 🔄 Reboot your smartphone.

On Xiaomi 12T and POCO X5 Pro models with MIUI 14, after cleaning calendar data, you may need to re-authorize in Mi Account to recover cloud events.

What if, after cleaning up, the events are gone? If you've cleared the calendar and all the events are gone, don't panic.
1. Open the Calendar app and wait for automatic sync (may take up to 5 minutes). 2. If events do not return, check your internet connection and log in to Mi Account again. 3. Click on the profile icon in the calendar → Sync. 4. Restore events from the backup (if it was created earlier).

4. Features for Google Calendar on Xiaomi

Many users prefer Google Calendar over Xiaomi's standard Calendar, and if you use it, the instructions for removing reminders will be different:

1. Open the Google Calendar app (if not, install it from the Play Market).

2. Find the event with a reminder and click on it.

3. At the bottom of the screen, click "Delete" (basket icon).

4. Select "Delete this event" or "Delete all events in the series" (for recurring ones).

🔹 Important: On Xiaomi with MIUI 14 Google Calendar notifications can be duplicated in the curtain to fix it:

  • 🛠️ Go to Settings. → Notifications → Management of notifications.
  • 🔍 Find Google Calendar and turn off Show Notifications».
  • 🔄 Turn them back on in 10 seconds.

⚠️

Note: If you deleted an event in Google Calendar but it still appears in the Xiaomi standard calendar, check if it syncs through Mi Account. Turn off calendar sync in your Xiaomi account as described in the previous section.

💡

If you use both calendars (Google and MIUI), we recommend turning off notifications for one of them to avoid duplicates, for example, leave notifications only in Google Calendar, and in the standard, turn off in the app settings.

5. Remove reminders on Xiaomi smartwatches

If the reminder came to Mi Band 7, Xiaomi Watch S1 or other smart Xiaomi equipment, it should be removed not only on the smartphone, but also in the accompanying application:

1. Open the Mi Fitness app (for Mi Band) or Wear OS (for Xiaomi Watch).

2 Go to the "Notifications" or "Reminders" section.

3. Find the event from the calendar and swipe it left (or click "Delete").

4. Synchronize the watch with the phone via Bluetooth.

🔹 Important: The Mi Band only receives reminders from the calendar if the Mi Fitness app has synced to Xiaomi Calendar or Google Calendar to turn them off completely:

  • 📱 Open "Mi Fitness» → «Profile» → «Notification settings».
  • 🔔 Turn off the slider next to the "Calendar».

⚠️

Note: On the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro with Wear OS, removing the reminder on the watch doesn't remove it on the phone. you need to manually sync the changes through the "Wear OS" app.

6.Why do reminders come back after being deleted?

Sometimes users are faced with a situation where the event is deleted, but after a while it reappears.

Reason.How to fix it
Synchronization with Mi Account restored the eventTurn off calendar sync in account settings, delete the event, then turn back on
Event created in Google Calendar, but removed only in MIUI CalendarRemove it in both calendars or turn off synchronization of one of them.
The error of the cache of the Calendar applicationClear the cache and application data in settings (Settings → Apps → Calendar → Storage)
Repeated event not completely removedWhen deleting, select “Delete all events in the series” rather than “This Event Only”
Viral software or third-party application restores eventsCheck your phone for viruses and remove suspicious apps

🔹 Tip: If the problem recurs, try backing up events, then uninstall and reinstall the Calendar app:

  1. Export events through Settings → System and Device → Backup.
  2. Remove Calendar app updates in the Play Market (if it’s system-based).
  3. Reboot your smartphone.

💡

If the reminder comes back after all the manipulations, the problem is most likely cloud sync. Try temporarily untethering Mi Account, deleting the event offline, and then linking the account again.

7. Alternative methods: ADB and third-party applications

For advanced users who are not afraid to work with ADB, there is a radical method of removing all events from the calendar.Caution: this method requires a connection to a PC and can lead to data loss.

1. Install ADB Tools on your computer.

2. Connect your smartphone to your PC and turn on “Debugging by USB” (Settings → About Phone → MIUI Version → 7 times click on the version, then go back to Settings → Additional → For Developers).

3. Enter in the command line:

adb shell pm clear com.android.calendar

adb shell pm clear com.miui.calendar

This will completely reset the calendar settings and remove all local events.

🔹 Alternative: If you do not want to use ADB, Try third-party calendar management apps, for example:

  • 📅 Business Calendar 2 – Allows you to delete events in large numbers.
  • 🧹 Calendar Cleaner – Finds and removes duplicates.
  • 🔄 Sync for MIUI Calendar – Corrects synchronization errors.

⚠️

Note: When using ADB on Xiaomi with a bootloader locked, you may need to unlock. This will result in a reset of all data on the phone! On POCO X3 Pro and later models, unlocking takes up to 72 hours.

FAQ: Frequent questions

Can I remove the reminder without removing the event itself?
Yes, in the standard Xiaomi calendar, you can turn off the notification for an event without erasing it completely. To do this: Open the event on the calendar. Click on "Edit." Scroll down to the Reminder section and select "No." Save the changes. Now the event will remain on the calendar, but the notifications will not come.

Xiaomi’s Standard Calendar Doesn’t Support Mass Deletion, But There Are Workarounds: Use It ADB-Adb shell pm clear com.miui.calendar (delete everything) Set a third-party calendar (e.g. Business Calendar 2) and import events, then delete in groups. Disconnect sync with Mi Account and clear the app data (all events will be deleted).
Reminders come on the watch, but not on the phone.
This is because of the different synchronization settings: Open "Mi Fitness" (or "Wear OS") on your phone. Go to Notifications → Calendar. Make sure you sync with the same calendar used on the watch. If the Mi Band watch is on, check if the notifications in the bracelet are turned off (click down on the bracelet screen and find the bell icon).
Can I restore a remote reminder?
