Search history in Yandex on Xiaomi’s smartphone (including Redmi, POCO and Black Shark models) can contain confidential queries, from personal interests to financial data. Despite the convenience of autocomplete, many users want to completely erase their activity, especially before selling the phone or transferring it to third parties. Unlike Google, where the story is synchronized with the account, in Yandex, some data is stored locally on the device, which requires separate cleaning.
In this article, we will discuss all the current ways to delete history, from manually cleaning through the browser to resetting data through the Yandex ID account. We will pay special attention to the nuances for MIUI 14/15 and HyperOS firmware, where the settings may differ, and find out how to avoid resaving requests and what to do if the story continues to appear after cleaning.
Why Yandex Search History is Saved on Xiaomi
On Xiaomi phones, Yandex search history can be stored in three places at the same time:
- 📱 Local browser cache (Yandex Browser, Chrome, MIUI Browser – saves requests even without logging in to your account.
- ☁️ Yandex Cloud ID — If you are logged in to an account, the story syncs with servers and can be displayed on other devices.
- 🔍 Systemic proposals MIUI — Some firmware versions cache popular queries to speed up search (including a widget on the home screen).
It is important to understand that simply deleting your history through a browser does not guarantee complete cleanup, for example, if you used the Yandex.Search widget on the MIUI desktop, the data could be saved in the system settings, the same applies to voice search through Google Assistant or Alice – these queries are stored separately.
⚠️ Note: On HyperOS devices (e.g. Xiaomi 14, Redmi) K70) Search history can be duplicated in the Settings menu → Annexes → Application management → Yandex. This is where not only the browser data is stored, but also all Yandex services (Maps, Music, Weather).
Method 1: Clearing History with Yandex Browser
If you use the official Yandex Browser app, the search history is removed in its settings.This method is suitable for most Xiaomi models, including the Redmi Note 12, POCO X5 and older devices on MIUI 12/13.
Instructions:
- Open the Yandex Browser and tap on the icon ☰ (menu) in lower right corner.
- Select Settings → History.
- Click Clear History and tick the boxes: 🗓️ Visit history (including search queries). 🍪 Cookies and site data (to completely remove traces). 🖼️ Cached images (optional if you need to vacate space).

After that, the story will be erased only on this device, and if you are logged in to Yandex ID, the data will remain on the company’s servers – it must be deleted separately (see Method 3).

Method 2: Remove via MIUI/HyperOS system settings
On Xiaomi smartphones, some of the search history can be stored in system settings, especially if you use:
- 🔍 Widget Yandex.Search on the main screen.
- 🎤 Voice search via Alice or Google Assistant.
- 📱 Quick search tips in the line MIUI Search.
To delete this data:
- Go to Settings → Applications → Application Management.
- Find Yandex (or Yandex Services on HyperOS) in the list.
- Slip the Warehouse → Clear the data and confirm the action.
- For full cleaning, also click Clear Cache.

If there is no Yandex app in the list, try looking for Yandex App or Yandex Search Widget.
This method deletes all local Yandex data, including:
- 📝 Search history in widgets.
- 📍 Geolocation tags (if Yandex.Maps were used).
- 🔑 Saved logins (if Yandex was not used) ID).
⚠️ Note: Xiaomi with HyperOS may need to restart the phone after cleaning the data of the Yandex application. Otherwise, the search widget on the home screen may not work correctly (show old queries).
Method 3: Completely delete history through Yandex ID
If you are logged in to a Yandex ID account, your search history will sync to the cloud and be displayed on all devices where you are logged in to erase it globally:
- Open your browser and go to passport.yandex.ru/profile.
- Sign in under your login.
- Go to the Data Management section → History of search.
- Click Clear History and select For All Time.
- Confirm the action via SMS or Yandex Key.
After that, the story will be removed on all devices, including Xiaomi, PCs and tablets.
- ⏳ Recovery of history after cleaning is impossible.
- 🔄 If you go back to Yandex ID On the phone, the new story will start to be recorded again.
- 📱 Local data on the device (browser cache) will not be deleted - they must be cleaned separately (see Method 1).

Additional measures: how to prevent the preservation of history
If you do not want Yandex to save your requests again, set the following parameters:
1. Disable synchronization in Yandex Browser
Go to Browser Settings → Account → Sync and deactivate History. This will stop writing new requests to the cloud, but the local history on the phone will be saved.
2.Use of the incognito regime
In Yandex Browser and Chrome, you can run private tabs where history is not saved:

3. Prohibition of data collection in MIUI

What if history still persists?
Frequent Mistakes and How to Avoid Them
When cleaning up search history, Xiaomi users often face the following problems:
- 🔄 "The story comes back after the reboot, meaning the data is synced to Yandex. ID. Turn off sync or clear history through your account.
- 📱 "I can't find the Yandex settings in MIUI" — firmware (MIUI 12.5 and below) the path to data cleanup may be different. Try using the settings search (icon) 🔍 top-up).
- 🔒 "After the phone reset, the story is left" - when Hard Reset deletes all data, but if you are logged in to Yandex again ID, The story could have been downloaded from the cloud.
Another common mistake is to clean only the cache, not the application data. Remember: Clear the cache deletes temporary files, and Clear the data resets the application to factory settings, including history.

If you sell or transfer a phone, it’s not enough to simply clear the history. Complete a full reset (Settings → About Phone → Reset) and delete your Yandex ID account from your device.
