The history of Yandex searches on a Xiaomi Redmi smartphone can contain sensitive information, from personal interests to financial data. If you transfer the phone to another person, sell it or just want to keep it private, it is important to know how to clean this data correctly. Unlike the desktop version, mobile browsers and Yandex applications on MIUI have their own nuances, especially on Redmi Note 12, Redmi 10C or POCO X5 models.
In this article, we will discuss all the current ways to delete history: through Yandex.Browser, the official Yandex application, as well as the MIUI system settings. Particular attention will be paid to hidden caches and synchronized data, which often go unnoticed after a standard cleanup. If you use a Yandex account, the history can be saved even after deleting on the device - we will show you how to fix this.
Why does Yandexโs history persist on Redmi even after itโs cleaned?
Many Xiaomi Redmi users are faced with a situation where after cleaning the history in the browser or Yandex application, the old queries are still displayed, the reason lies in three key points:
- ๐ Sync with Yandex account: If you are logged in to your profile, the history is automatically saved on the companyโs servers and restored the next time you log in.
- ๐ฑ Cash. MIUI: Xiaomiโs operating shell caches application data, including search queries, in system folders.
- ๐ Cross-platform: The story can be displayed on other devices where you used the same account (e.g. on a tablet or PC).
For example, if you cleared your Yandex.Browser history on Redmi Note 11 but didnโt log out of your account, requests may return after you reboot your phone, as well as MIUI system search, which is integrated with Yandex services.
โ ๏ธ Attention: On Xiaomi smartphones with firmware MIUI 14 and newer search history may be duplicated in Settings โ Annexes โ Application management โ Yandex: Cleaning only the browser won't delete this data.
Method 1: Delete history through Yandex.Browser
If you use Yandex.Browser on Redmi, clearing your history takes a few steps, and it works for all models, from Redmi 9A to Redmi Note 13 Pro+. Importantly, the procedure will only delete local data, synchronized requests will remain on Yandex servers.
- Open Yandex.Browser and click on the icon โฎ (three points) in lower right corner.
- Select History (Clock icon).
- Click on Clear History in the upper right corner.
- Specify the period: Last hour, Today, Yesterday or For all time.
- Check the boxes: ๐ History of visits ๐ History of search ๐ช Cookies (optional)
Clean up
Some MIUI firmware (e.g. MIUI 13) may be notified after cleaning that you need to restart your browser. If the story has not disappeared, check if synchronization is enabled in the Yandex account settings.

Method 2: Cleaning through the official application Yandex
If you are using the official Yandex app instead of the browser (with the search bar on the home screen), the cleaning algorithm will be different, which is relevant for Redmi users who have the application pre-installed or installed separately from Google Play.
Instructions:
- Open the Yandex app and tap the profile icon in the upper right corner.
- Go to Settings โ Search History.
- Click Delete History and select a period: ๐ Last hour. ๐ Last week. ๐๏ธ All the time.
Ready.
If you are logged in to Yandex, the story will disappear from all devices using this profile after cleaning, however, on Xiaomi smartphones with MIUI 14+, there may be cache in the system settings - it must be deleted separately (see Method 4).
โ ๏ธ Note: Yandex on Redmi has Incognito, which is the mask icon in the search box, and if you turn on this mode before searching, the queries will not be saved in history.
Method 3: Delete History through MIUI Settings
The MIUI operating system on Xiaomi Redmi smartphones caches application data, including search queries. Even after cleaning in Yandex itself, traces can remain in the system files. To completely remove them, follow the following steps:
- Go to Settings โ Applications โ Application Management.
- Find Yandex (or Yandex.Browser) in the list and click on it.
- Choose Warehouse.
- Click Clear Cache and Clear Data (Warning: This will remove all app settings, including bookmarks!).
- For a complete cleanup, go back to App Management, find Google Play Services, and clear their cache.
On some Redmi models (e.g. Redmi 12), you may need to restart your phone after this action. If history still shows up, check if Autocomplete is enabled in your keyboard settings (e.g. Gboard or MIUI Keyboard).
| Model Redmi | The Way to the MIUI Settings | Features |
|---|---|---|
| Redmi Note 10/11/12 | Settings โ Applications โ Application Management โ Yandex โ Storage | Password/fingerprint confirmation required |
| Redmi 9/9A/9C | Settings โ All settings โ Applications โ Yandex | Cash clears without deleting data |
| POCO X3/X4/X5 | Settings โ Applications โ Show all applications โ Yandex | You need to turn off the optimization of the battery for Yandex |
๐ก
If the story still appears after cleaning, try to delete the Yandex app updates in Google Play, then clear the cache and update again.
Method 4: Disable history synchronization with Yandex account
If you use a Yandex account to sync data between devices, your search history will be stored on the companyโs servers even after local cleaning, to delete it completely:
- Open Yandex.Browser or Yandex application.
- Click on the profile icon โ Account management.
- Go to the Synchronization Settings.
- Turn off the search history switch.
- Return to Account Management and select Delete Data.
- Mark your search history and confirm the deletion.
Instructions for CCleaner:
- Install the app from Google Play.
- Start the system analysis (Analysis button).
- Go to the Application tab and select Yandex.
- Click Clean and confirm the action.
The advantage of this approach is to delete not only the history, but also other unnecessary files that take up space on Redmi. However, be careful: some utilities can delete data from important applications. Before using, make a backup through Settings โ Additional โ Backup and Reset.
๐ก
Third-party cleaners can delete data more thoroughly than built-in MIUI tools, but the risk of accidentally deleting important files is higher. Use them only if other methods have not worked.
Additional measures: how to prevent the preservation of history in the future
To the history of Yandex queries is not saved on Xiaomi Redmi, you can use several methods:
- ๐ต๏ธ Incognito mode: In Yandex.Browser or Yandex application, use incognito mode (mask icon.
- ๐ Disconnect synchronization: In the settings of the Yandex account, deactivate the option Synchronization of history.
- ๐ฑ Alternative browsers: Use Firefox Focus or DuckDuckGo โ they donโt save your default search history.
- ๐ VPN Tracker-blocking: Applications like AdGuard or 1.1.1.1 can block data collection by Yandex.
Redmi with MIUI 14 and later has a built-in Privacy Protection feature (Settings โ Privacy) that can restrict applications from accessing history and other data, such as disabling Reading Call Log and History permission for Yandex.Browser.
If you often share your phone with others (such as colleagues or family members), consider creating a guest profile in MIUI.
- Go to Settings โ System and Device โ Additional โ Multiplayer Mode.
- Click Add User and select Guest.
- In guest mode, the history of Yandex will not be preserved.
