Xiaomiโs standard calendar is one of the most used apps on the brandโs smartphones, but not all users know how to manage tasks properly in it. Especially when you delete repetitive events, synchronized records or tasks created through Google Calendar. In this article, we will discuss all possible ways to remove tasks, from basic to hidden functions, which are not written even in the official documentation.
It is important to understand that the removal process may differ depending on the version. MIUI (from MIUI 12 before MIUI 14), Smartphone model (Redmi Note) 12, Poco X5, Mi 11 and the type of account (local or Google/Mi We've taken all these nuances into account so that the instruction is appropriate for the 95% Xiaomi devices released after 2018 year-end.
Basic method: Removing the task through the calendar interface
The easiest method is to delete directly in the Calendar app, and it works for all types of tasks except those synced with Google Account (they require separate actions, see Section 4).
- Open the Calendar app (an icon with date and clock).
- Find the desired task in the list or go to the date of its creation through the calendar grid.
- Tap the task once to open the card.
- In the upper right corner, click on the basket icon (๐๏ธ) three-point (โฎ) โ Delete.
- Confirm the action in the pop-up window.
If the task is repetitive, the system will ask if you want to delete only that event or the entire series.
- ๐ Remove only this event โ the task will disappear only on the selected day.
- ๐๏ธ Delete all events โ all repetitions (weekly, monthly, etc.) will be deleted.).
- โญ๏ธ Remove this and all future events โ relevant for tasks with limited repetitions.
No important reminders on the task | Event not synced with Google | You have chosen the correct type of deletion (one/all) | You have a backup of the calendar-->
An important nuance: on some firmware (MIUI 13 and below), after deleting the task may remain in the list until the application is restarted. If this happens, just close the calendar through the Recent Apps and reopen it.
2. Delete through the calendar widget on the home screen
If you have a calendar widget added to your home screen (usually showing the current date and upcoming events), you can delete the task directly from there without opening the app itself.
- Tap the calendar widget on the home screen and a shortened list of events will open.
- Find the desired task and make a long press (1-2 seconds).
- In the menu that appears, select Remove (or basket icon).
- Confirm removal.
This only works for local tasks (not synced with Google or Mi Account), and if the Delete option is inactive, then the task is tied to a cloud account, use the methods in Sections 4 or 5.
๐ก
If the calendar widget does not display tasks, check its settings: long press on the widget โ Change the widget โ turn on the option to Show events.
3. Massive task removal: how to clear the calendar at a time
If you have a lot of unnecessary tasks on your calendar (for example, after importing or synchronizing with another device), it is not rational to delete them one by one. Xiaomi has a hidden mass removal feature, but it only works for local tasks:
- Open the calendar. โ press three points (โฎ) top-right.
- Select Calendar Management.
- Tap on the calendar you want to remove tasks from (usually a Personal Calendar or Local Events).
- Scroll down and click Clear Calendar.
- Confirm the action.
Note: this option removes ALL tasks from the chosen calendar without recovery. If there are any important events, pre-export the calendar to the file (see section 7).
| Calendar type | Supports mass removal? | Synchronizes with the cloud? |
|---|---|---|
| Personal calendar (local) | โ Yes. | โ No. |
| Google Calendar | โ No. | โ Yes. |
| Mi Account Calendar | โ No. | โ Yes. |
| Outlook Calendar | โ No. | โ Yes. |

4. Remove tasks synchronized with Google Account
If a task was created or imported through Google Calendar, it cannot be removed using Xiaomiโs standard methods.
Method 1: Using the Google Calendar App
- Install the official Google Calendar app from the Play Market (if not).
- Open it and find the right task.
- Touch the task โ tap the icon โฎ โ Delete.
- Choose the option of deleting (one event or the entire series).
Method 2: Using the Google Calendar
If the application does not help (for example, the task "hang"), use the browser:
- Go to calendar.google.com and log in.
- Find the task in the list or through a search (magnifying glass icon).
- Click on the event โ Delete (basket icon).
- Confirm removal.
After deleting through Google, the changes are synced with the Xiaomi calendar within 5-10 minutes. If this does not happen, manually update the data:
Settings โ Accounts โ Google โ Your account โ Synchronization โ Enable CalendarIf the task is stuck and not deleted via Xiaomi or Google, try it.
5 Removal of repetitive tasks with exceptions
One of the hardest situations is when you have a repetitive task (like, "Salary every 5th day of the month"), but some of the instances have been edited or removed separately, in which case, the standard deletion of the entire series may not work. Here's how it is:
- Open the task in the Xiaomi calendar.
- If there is a caption at the bottom This event is part of the series, click on it.
- Choose Delete all events.
- If the system is cursing about a โchange conflict,โ try it: ๐ฑ Delete the task through Google Calendar (see section 4). ๐ Disable calendar synchronization, delete the task locally, then enable synchronization again. ๐ Create a new repetitive task and remove the old one.
The reason for the problem: Xiaomi and Google handle exceptions to repetitive events differently, and if you edited individual instances of a task, the system may forget about the connection between them.
๐ก
Before removing repetitive exception tasks, always check to see if they are related to important events, and sometimes it is easier to create a new task than to restore remote exceptions.
6 Recovery of accidentally deleted tasks
If you delete a task by mistake, you can return it within 30 days (for Google Calendar) or 7 days (for local Xiaomi tasks).
For Google Calendar:
- Go to calendar.google.com.
- In the left menu, find the My calendars section and click on the three dots next to the calendar.
- Choose Restore Calendar.
- Specify the date range for which you want to restore tasks, and click Restore.
โ ๏ธ Note: Once you restore it through Google Calendar, any changes made after a remote task will be lost, for example, if you restore the calendar on May 10 and then add tasks on May 15, they will disappear.
7.Calendar Exports and Imports: Backup Before Deletion
Before mass removal of tasks, it is recommended to back up the calendar, which will help restore data in case of an error. Xiaomi has two ways of exporting:
Method 1: Export to.ics file
- Open the calendar. โ โฎ โ Calendar management.
- Select a calendar for export (for example, a personal calendar).
- Click Export and save the file in your phoneโs memory.
Method 2: Backup through MIUI
- Go to Settings โ About Phone โ Backup.
- Select Local Backup.
- Check the calendar and click Create a backup.
For import from the.ics file:
- Open the calendar. โ โฎ โ Imports.
- Select a file from the phone's memory.
- Specify your target calendar (for example, a personal calendar).
Important: Duplications may occur when importing repetitive tasks, delete old tasks before importing them, or use the Replace existing events option (if available).
