Losing contacts on a smartphone is one of the most frustrating situations a Xiaomi user can face. Even if the phone goes down, gets stolen, or you accidentally delete important numbers, syncing with your Google account ensures that your entire address book stays safe. However, many owners of Redmi, POCO or Mi devices face problems: contacts do not save to the cloud, duplicate or disappear after resetting.

For comparison: storage on SIM-The card is limited to 250 contacts (and then not on all cards), does not support photos and additional fields (email, address), and when you lose the card, all data is lost irretrievably. The local memory of the phone is also unreliable - if you reset to factory settings or break all contacts will disappear.

Check the current status of contact synchronization

Step-by-step set up synchronization of contacts with Google on Xiaomi

1. Adding a Google Account (if not)
Without an account, sync is impossible.

2. Enabling contact synchronization
After adding the account:

If the Contact slider is not listed, then your account is not synced.
