Xiaomi’s current Android TVs or Google TVs offer access to thousands of apps, but there is no official VKontakte client in their Mi App Store, which creates problems for users who want to watch videos, listen to music or social media directly from the big screen. In this article, we will discuss all the current ways to install VK on Xiaomi TVs in 2026, including bypassing restrictions, setting up the remote control and solving typical errors.
It's important to understand that not all methods are equally convenient: some require additional devices (smartphone, PC), others work only on certain TV models. We tested each method on Mi TV 4S, Mi TV Q2 and Xiaomi TV A Pro TVs - the results are summarized in the comparison table below. If your model is older than 2019, check the support for Google Play Services in settings: without them, most methods will not work.
1. Installation via Mi App Store (official method)
Despite the lack of a full-fledged VKontakte app in the Mi App Store, some Xiaomi models have a lightweight version of VK Video, a service for watching videos and streams, which is suitable if you only need videos, but not chats or music.
To find the app:
- 🔍 Open the Mi App Store on the main screen of the TV.
- 📝 In the search bar, enter VK Video (not to be confused with) VK or VKontakte).
- 📥 Click Install and wait for the download to be completed.

3. Use of Screen Mirroring (Screen Mirroring)
If installing an APK seems complicated, the alternative is to transfer the screen from your smartphone to your TV, a method that doesn’t require installing apps on your TV, but depends on the stability of your Wi-Fi and the performance of your phone.
For mirairing you will need:
- 📱 Smartphone on Android 8.0+ or iOS 12+.
- 📶 Shared Wi-Fi network for TV and phone.
- 🔄 Screen Mirroring (or Smart View, Cast) on your phone.
Step-by-step instructions for Android:
- On the TV, open Settings → Connection and Sharing → Screen Mirroring.
- On your smartphone, lower the notification curtain and find the Transfer button on the screen (the name may differ).
- Choose your Xiaomi TV from the list of devices.
- Confirm the TV connection.
- Open the VKontakte app on your phone – the image is duplicated on the screen.
For the iPhone:
- Make sure that your TV and iPhone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
