Calendar synchronization on Xiaomi smartphones is a key feature for those who are active and use multiple devices. Without the right setup, you risk missing important meetings, getting duplicate events or losing data when changing your phone. In this article, we will discuss all the current ways to synchronize the calendar on Redmi, POCO and Xiaomi flagships (including models from 2023 to 2026), as well as solve typical problems such as the lack of updates or conflicts between accounts.
Xiaomiβs ecosystem is very well integrated with Mi Account and Google, but not everyone knows how to configure their interactions. For example, when you add an event through the Calendar app, by default, it can only be stored locally, not in the cloud. Weβll show you how to avoid these pitfalls and ensure that your calendar runs smoothly on all your gadgets, from your smartphone to your Mi Band smartwatch.
Why Xiaomiβs calendar is not synchronized: the main reasons
Before setting up, it is important to understand what is preventing synchronization, most often problems arise from:
- π Disabled account sync β even if you are logged in to Mi Account or Google, the data update feature itself can be deactivated.
- πΆ Unstable Internet connection β calendar is updated only when you have a network (Wi-Fi or mobile Internet).
- π Conflict between multiple accounts β if both Mi Account and Google are added on the phone, events may be duplicated or disappear.
- π± Outdated version of the application β in the Xiaomi Calendar periodically appear bugs that fix in updates.
- βοΈ Energy saving restrictions β Battery optimization can block calendar background.
Another common situation is that once you reset or flash it, the calendar stops updating, because Xiaomi doesn't restore sync settings from the backup by default, so you can manually check your account settings and app permissions.
β οΈ Note: If you use a Microsoft Exchange or Outlook corporate account, sync may be blocked by the organizationβs security policies. IT-division.
Method 1: Synchronize Xiaomi Calendar with Google Account
The most versatile method is Google Calendar binding, which works on all devices, including Xiaomi 13/14, Redmi Note 12 and POCO F5, and syncs with Gmail, Google Assistant and third-party apps like Fantastical or Microsoft Outlook.
Instructions:
- Open Settings β Accounts and Synchronization.
- Select Google and log in to your account (if you havenβt done so before).
- Slip to the email address, then activate the slider opposite the Calendar.
- Return to the main settings menu and go to Apps β Application Management β Calendar.
- Click Permissions and make sure Calendar, Warehouse and Internet are enabled.
- Launch Calendar, click on the three dots in the top right corner and select Settings β Accounts. Make sure your Google Account is marked as active.

If after these actions, events still donβt show up, try manually updating the data: open Settings β Accounts and Sync β Google β your account and click Sync Now.

To avoid duplicates, in your calendar settings (Settings β Display calendars), disable unnecessary sources, such as the local calendar of the device.
Method 2: Sync with Mi Account (for Xiaomi ecosystem)
If youβre actively using Xiaomi devices (smartphone, tablet, Mi Watch smartwatch), itβs easier to sync your calendar through Mi Account, a method that ensures events are available on all of the brandβs gadgets, including the Mi TV and Mi Band 8.
How to set up:
- Go to Settings β Accounts and Sync β Mi Account.
- Sign in to your account (create a new one if necessary).
- Activate the calendar synchronization slider.
- Open Calendar, click on three points β Settings β Accounts and select Mi Account as your primary.
| Advantages | Deficiencies |
|---|---|
| Automatic sync with all Xiaomi devices | It doesnβt work with Google and Outlook without additional settings. |
| Support for reminders on the Mi Band and Mi Watch | Less integrations with third-party apps (such as Zoom or Trello) |
| Quick data recovery when changing phone | The calendar interface is less functional than Google Calendar |
Important: If you delete Mi Account from your phone, all events stored only in this account will be permanently lost.
Method 3: Manual synchronization via.ics file (for backup)
If you need to transfer events from one device to another without being linked to the cloud (for example, when changing your account), use export/import of the.ics file. This method is suitable for all Xiaomi models, including old (Redmi 4X, Mi A1) and new (Xiaomi 14 Ultra).
Export instructions:
- Open the Calendar app.
- Click on three points β Settings β Import / Export.
- Select Export and specify the period (e.g. All events).
- The file will be saved in the Download folder under the name calendar.ics.
For importation to a new device:
- Copy the.ics file to your phone (for example, via Google Drive or cable).
- In the Calendar app, select Import and specify the path to the file.
- Select your target calendar (such as Google or Mi Account).
β οΈ Note: When importing events from the.ics file, encoding errors may occur (e.g. Cyrillic characters will be displayed in cracosyabras). To avoid this, change the system language to English before exporting.

How to fix calendar synchronization errors on Xiaomi
If the calendar is not updated or events are missing, follow the following steps:
1. Checking the Internet connection
Make sure your phone is connected to the network. For the test, turn off Wi-Fi and turn on mobile Internet (or vice versa). Sometimes problems arise from the carrier blocking traffic - try using a VPN.
2. Cleaning the cache and application data
Go to Settings β Applications β Application Management β Calendar and click:
- Clear the cache
- Clear the data (Warning: This will delete all local events!)
Then restart the phone and check the sync.
3. Update of the application and firmware
An outdated version of the Calendar or MIUI can cause crashes.
- Calendar app via Google Play or App Gallery.
- Phone firmware: Settings β About phone β System update.
4. Resetting synchronization settings
If the problem is not solved, reset your account settings:
- Go to Settings β Accounts and Synchronization.
- Select a problem account (Google or Mi Account).
- Click Delete your account, then add it again.
What to do if events are duplicated?
Synchronize Xiaomi calendar with smartwatches and other devices
If you use the Mi Band 7/8, Mi Watch or Xiaomi Smart Clock, you can display calendar events on their screens.
- Make sure the watch is connected to your phone via the Mi Fitness or Zepp Life app.
- In the settings of the clock, turn on the option of Notification β Calendar.
- In the Calendar app on your phone, check that events are saved in a synchronized account (Google or Mi Account).
For Mi TV or Xiaomi Pad:
- πΊ On your TV, install the Google Calendar app from Google Play (if supported).
- π± On the tablet, use the standard Calendar app with reference to the same account as on your smartphone.
Important: Xiaomi smartwatches only display events from the main calendar. If you have multiple accounts, select the Calendar on your phone that is the priority in the app settings.
How to transfer your calendar from the old Xiaomi to the new
When you buy a new Xiaomi smartphone (for example, Redmi Note 13 Pro+ instead of Redmi Note 10), the calendar transfer depends on the account used:
1. Transfer through Google Account
If events are saved to Google Calendar, they will automatically appear on the new phone after logging in to the same account.
- Add a Google Account in the settings of the new device.
- Enable calendar synchronization (see Method 1).
2.Movement through Mi Account
For events saved in Mi Account:
- On an old phone, export the calendar to a.ics file (see Method 3).
- On your new phone, import the file and select Mi Account as your target calendar.
3. Transfer through MIUI backup
If you backup through Settings β Additional β Backup and Reset, the calendar can be restored:
- On the new phone, log in to the same Mi Account.
- Go to Settings β Further β Data Recovery.
- Select a backup and mark the Calendar item.
β οΈ Note: When recovering from backup MIUI Google Calendar events are not portable β they are linked to a Google account, not a device. Use this method only for events stored locally or in Mi Account.
π‘
The most reliable way to transfer a calendar is to use a Google Account, which works on all devices, including iPhones and computers, and is independent of the smartphone brand.
