How to Clone an App on a Xiaomi Phone

The modern rhythm of life often requires the separation of digital space into personal and work. Xiaomi smartphone owners are in a great position, as the MIUI shell and the new HyperOS offer powerful built-in tools to solve this problem without the need to install questionable software. The ability to run two copies of the same messenger or social network on the same device is not just a convenience, but a necessity for many users who combine different roles.

The process of creating duplicate programs on the Android system based on Xiaomi is implemented at a deep level, which guarantees stability and minimal battery consumption. You do not need to look for "crutches" or complex scripts if the standard functionality covers 99% of the needs. However, there are nuances that are important to consider when setting up so that notifications come on time and data does not conflict.

Built-in function Cloning applications

The easiest and most reliable way to run a second copy of a popular messenger is to use the regular system function. In the Xiaomi settings menu, this tool is hidden quite deep, but it provides native integration. The second application will work as an independent process, having its own cache, data and account.

To activate, you need to go to Settings, then find the App item and select App Cloning, and the list that opens will only show the programs that the system supports for duplication, usually WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber, Facebook and some Chinese social networks, and if the desired application is not on the list, then the system methods can not clone it.

After switching on the tumbler next to the program name, a new icon with a distinctive icon (usually a yellow circle with two arrows or an orange label) will appear on the desktop.
