How to open your browser history on Xiaomi: 5 proven ways

Why you need access to the history of the browser and what risks it carries

Xiaomi’s browsing history is not just a list of sites, it’s the real digital memory of your smartphone. It stores not only page addresses, but also visit times, downloaded files, and sometimes even saved passwords or form data. For most users, this feature becomes a lifeline when you need to return a lost tab or remember the name of a useful resource. However, uncontrolled data accumulation can lead to a slowdown in the browser, leaks of sensitive information, or even targeted attacks through vulnerabilities in WebView.

Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO use two main browsers: the Mi Browser (formerly Mint Browser) and Google Chrome. Despite their similarities, their history storage algorithms are fundamentally different. For example, Mi Browser syncs data with Xiaomi servers by default (if a Mi Account is enabled), whereas Chrome is tied to a Google account, which means that when you reset your phone to factory settings, your Chrome history can be restored automatically, but Mi Browser does not.

Method 2: View History in Google Chrome on Xiaomi

Google Chrome is an alternative browser that many Xiaomi users install manually or use as their primary browser, and its history is stored separately from the Mi Browser and linked to a Google account.

1. Start Google Chrome (the icon with a multi-colored circle).
2. Slip the icon of the three dots in the upper right corner.
3. Select History (or press Ctrl+H if the keyboard is connected).

Chrome has a different story than Mi Browser:

• 📅 Chronological order – records are sorted by time, with the device specified (if synchronization is enabled).
• 🔄 Cross-platform – the story from your phone will be visible on your PC if you’re logged in to one Google account.
• 🛡️ Data protection – when you delete your phone history, it will disappear on other devices.

Features of Chrome on Xiaomi:

• On some models (e.g. Redmi Note 12 Pro+), Chrome may conflict with the Mi Browser due to MIUI limitations on background activity.

Method 3: How to find a story through MIUI (Hidden Method) settings

Few people know, but MIUI stores a copy of your browser history in system settings, and this method works even if you delete the Mi Browser or reset its data.

1. Open the phone settings.
2. Go to the Appendix section → Application management.
3. Find the Browser (or Mi Browser) in the list and tap it.
4. Select Warehouse → Application Data → History.

This is where it's going to be:

Method 4: Recovering a Remote Browser History

If the story was cleared by accident, you can try to restore it, and success depends on how long ago the cleanup took place and what settings were activated:

To recover via Mi Account:

1. Open Settings → Xiaomi account.

3. Find the Browser section and click Restore.

If the sync is disabled, try analyzing the cache:

How to Clear Your Browser History on Xiaomi (without a Trace)

Deleting history is not only a matter of privacy, but also optimizing the browser. On Xiaomi devices with limited memory (such as Redmi 10A or POCO M5), the browser cache can take up to 1-2 GB.

In Mi Browser:
