Todayโs Xiaomi Redmi smartphones store a huge amount of data about your activity, from searches in Yandex to pages visited in the browser, which not only takes up space in the memory of the device, but can also become a vulnerability to privacy, especially if you use multiple accounts or often transfer your phone to other people.
Many users mistakenly think that it is enough to delete the history in the application Yandex.Browser or Yandex Go. However, on MIUI (Xiaomi firmware) data can be duplicated in system logs, application cache and even in the cloud storage Yandex.Disk. In this article we will analyze all possible ways to clean the history - from basic to hidden, including resetting cache through Android Settings and account synchronization management.
If youโve never cleared history on your Redmi, be prepared: After a full cleaning, up to 1-3 GB of memory will be freed up, and autocomplete forms and search tips will reset to factory settings.
1. Clearing history right in the applications of Yandex
The most obvious way is to delete data directly from the programs where it accumulates, and on Xiaomi Redmi, you can do this in three main applications from Yandex:
- ๐ Yandex.Browser โ stores the history of visited sites, downloads and autocomplete data.
- ๐ฑ Yandex Go is a lightweight version of the browser with a simplified interface, but the same history.
- ๐ Yandex (search application) โ saves all search queries and geolocation tags.
To clear up the story in Yandex.Browser:
- Open the app and tap the icon. โฎ (three points) in lower right corner.
- Choose a History. โ Clear history.
- Check all types of data (Visit history, cookies, cache) and click Delete.
In Yandex Go, the process is similar, but the menu is hidden behind the button. โฐ (There are three lines in the top left corner, but in the Yandex search app, the path is different: Profile โ Settings โ History of search โ Clear history.
โ ๏ธ Note: If you are syncing with a Yandex account, the story will only be deleted from your phone, but will remain in the cloud. To erase it completely, go to the account management page from your computer.
2. Delete cache and data of Yandex applications through Android settings
Even after clearing the history inside the applications, Xiaomi Redmi still has temporary files (cache) and application data that can recover some of the deleted information, to ensure that everything is erased:
- Go to Settings โ Applications โ Application Management.
- In the search bar, enter โYandexโ โ the system will show all related programs.
- Select each application in turn (Yandex.Browser, Yandex Go, Yandex, etc.).
- Click Warehouse โ Clear the cache and Clear the data.
On MIUI 14 and later, after cleaning the data, the application will reset to factory settings โ you have to re-enter your account and configure the home page, but this method removes all traces of activity, including saved passwords and autocomplete data.

If the apps start to work unstable after cleaning, try reinstalling them through Google Play or Mi App Store.
3. Hidden MIUI settings: cleaning system logs

7 How to Prevent the Accumulation of History in the Future
In order not to clean the history of Yandex manually, you can configure automatic deletion or disable its saving:
| Method | How to set up | The effect |
|---|---|---|
| Disable the history in the browser | In Yandex.Browser: Settings โ Privacy โ Do not save history | Sites will not be added to the history, but cache and cookies will remain |
| Use the incognito mode | In the browser, click โฎ โ New incognito tab | History and cookies are not stored, but IP-address and activity can be tracked |
| Autocleaning through CCleaner | In CCleaner settings, enable Autoclean when screen locks | Cash and history will be cleared when the phone is turned off |
| Disable geolocation for Yandex | Settings โ Applications โ Yandex โ Permissions โ Geodata โ Ban | Search queries will not be tied to your location |
The most reliable way to avoid surveillance is to use alternative browsers (such as Firefox Focus or Brave), which do not save history by default and block trackers.
