Losing an important phone number is a stressful situation that is familiar to every smartphone owner, especially when it happens on Xiaomi Redmi devices, where the MIUI interface has its own data storage features. Often users unknowingly delete the entries from the phone book, thinking that they are saved automatically, or the phone book disappears after resetting.

Checking the basket in the Contacts app
The first place to look right after a missing person is the built-in Recycle Bin in the Contacts app, which in modern versions of MIUI, deleted records don't disappear instantly, but are moved to a buffer that is stored for 30 days, which is protection against random user actions.
To find this section, open the standard Contacts app and click on the three dots or menu icon in the top right corner. In the drop-down list, select Remote Contacts or Recycle Bin. This shows all the entries that have been deleted recently.

If you find the number you want, tick it and click Restore, and it goes back to the main phone book, and if the cart is empty, go to the next method, which is to check cloud syncs.

Recovery through Google Contacts

Search through messengers and call history
If cloud backups don’t work, it’s worth being smart and checking for “digital footprints” in other apps, and often the phone number is automatically saved in messenger cache or carrier logs, even if it’s removed from the phone book.
Check the chat history on WhatsApp, Telegram or Viber. If you have ever texted or texted that person, the number may appear in the contact profile inside the app. On WhatsApp, for example, even a number deleted from a book sometimes remains visible in the list of recent chats if it was correspondence.
Also, look in the Phone app and open the Recent tab. Even if no contact is in the book, the history of incoming and outgoing calls is usually saved. Click on the i icon or next to the number, sometimes the system pulls up the data from the cache or suggests saving the number again.
