Where to store conversation records on Xiaomi: 5 ways to find and recover

Have you been searching for a record of an important phone call on your Xiaomi but can't find where it's saved? Or want to enable automatic call recording but don't know how to do it in MIUI? 1. Standard place of storage of records in MIUI

2. How to enable automatic call recording

Xiaomi’s conversation recording feature is often disabled by default due to legal restrictions in some countries.

1. Open the phone application (pipe icon).
2. Press three points (⋮) in the upper right corner and select "Settings».
3. Go to the section "Recording conversations" (or "Call recording" in English firmware).

Important: On Android 12+ models (such as the Xiaomi 12T or Redmi K50), automatic recording may not work due to Google restrictions, in which case manual recording confirmation is required on each call.

3. Why records disappear or are not saved

Xiaomi users often face the problem of having records suddenly disappear from memory.

Another common reason is to update MIUI. After installing a new firmware version (e.g., from MIUI 13 to MIUI 14), the path to the records folder may change, and the old files may move to the archive.

1. Open Files → Categories → Archives.
2. Look. ZIP-file call_rec_backup_[date].
3. Unclose them with the standard Archivator app.

On Android 13+ devices (such as Xiaomi 13 Ultra or Redmi K60), records can be saved to a secure Android/data/com.android.dialer/files folder.
