Have you been looking for an important recording of a conversation on Xiaomi, but canβt find it? POCO) Record calls in an unobvious way β files can be hidden in system folders, cloud storage, or even on the Internet SIM-In this article, we'll look at all possible locations, including hidden directories, and learn how to recover remote conversations.
It is important to understand that the location of files depends on the version of MIUI, the phone model and the recording method (built-in voice recorder, Calls app or third-party programs). For example, on the Xiaomi 13 Pro with MIUI 15, records are stored differently than on the Redmi Note 10 with MIUI 12.5. We covered all current scenarios - from standard paths to rare exceptions.
1. Standard place of storage of records in MIUI
By default, Xiaomi smartphones save call records in a folder MIUI/sound_recorder/call_rec But the path can vary:
- π Main folder: /storage/emulated/0/MIUI/sound_recorder/call_rec/ β There are files with the.amr extension or.mp3, patterned call_YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.
- π For older versions. MIUI (before 12): /storage/emulated/0/Recorder/callrec/. Check this path if you do not find files in the main directory.
- π± In some models (for example, POCO F5): duplicative /storage/emulated/0/Download/CallRecordings/.
To open the folder:
- Launch the File Manager app from Xiaomi.
- Go to the Category section β Audio or use a file name search (e.g., file name search, call_2026).
- If the folder is not visible, turn on the display of hidden files in the file manager settings.
π‘
If the record is not played back, try renaming the file by adding an extension.mp3 Like hand-held, call_20260515_123045.amr β call_20260515_123045.mp3
β οΈ Attention: On phones with MIUI Global (European firmware) call recording feature may be disabled by default due to limitations GDPR. To activate it, go to Settings. β Annexes β Permits β Recorder and turn on microphone access during calls.
2. Recordings in the application "Call Recorder"
In the latest versions of MIUI (14+), the records are integrated directly into the standard Calls app (Phone) to find them:
- Open the Calls app** (Tube icon).
- Go to the Records tab** (or click on the three dots in the top right corner and select Call Records).
If there is no "Records" tab**:
- π§ Check the settings: Settings β Annexes β Calls. β Permissions β Enable audio recording and file storage.
- π₯ Update the Calls app via Google Play (if youβre using a global version) MIUI).
- π On some regional firmware (for example, Indian) the recording function is hidden β you need to change the region to India or Russia in the phone settings.
Open Settings β Applications β Calls β Permissions
Enable access to microphone and storage
Check the version of the Calls app on Google Play
Make sure the function is not blocked by the operator-->
On dual-SIM phones, records can be saved to the same SIM-The card that made the call, if you used the second card. SIM, check the folder /storage/emulated/0/MIUI/sound_recorder/call_rec/sim2/.
3. Cloud Storage: Mi Cloud and Google Drive
If the phone is synced, the records could automatically be uploaded to the cloud.

4. Third-party applications for recording calls
If you used third-party programs (such as Cube ACR, Call Recorder, or Truecaller) instead of a standard voice recorder, the records are stored in their own folders:
- π€ Cube ACR: /storage/emulated/0/CubeBackup/ or /storage/emulated/0/CallRecordings/.
- π Truecaller: /storage/emulated/0/Truecaller/Recordings/ (Premium subscription is required for access).
- π Call Recorder (from Lovekesh): /storage/emulated/0/CallRecorder/.
