When a Xiaomi smartphone starts requiring authorization to make calls or sync history, users are often taken by surprise, usually after resetting, buying a used device or changing the main mailbox. MIUI and HyperOS are closely integrated with Google services and Xiaomi’s own cloud, creating multiple tiers of profile binding.
It is important to understand that a call account is not a single application, but a complex bundle of system services. A login error can block access to a call log, contacts, or even dialing options. In this article, we will discuss how to correctly change your priority profile, delete unnecessary accounts and avoid locking the device.
Android is an open system, but manufacturers are adding their own security limitations, and if you bought a phone from hand, the previous owner might not have logged out of your profile, which now prevents you from fully using the device, and we'll look at all the legal ways to address this problem.
Identification of the call account type
Before taking decisive action, you need to determine exactly which service is causing the authorization request. On Xiaomi smartphones, there can be two main types: a Google profile and a Xiaomi account (Mi Account), confusion between them often leads to wrong actions when a user deletes the wrong profile.
Google's Phone app uses your Gmail to sync contacts and call history to the cloud, and if you change your phone or password, the system will insist on proof of identity, a theft-protection mechanism known as FRP (Factory Reset Protection).

Deleting accounts through system settings
The easiest and safest way to change or delete a profile is to use the regular settings menu, which is suitable if you have access to your desktop and phone menu. First, go to Settings, then look for Accounts and Sync (or just Accounts on new versions of HyperOS).
In the list that opens, you will see all the associated services. Click on the desired profile, such as Google. A detailed menu will open where the Delete Account or Sign Out button will be displayed. The system will warn that all data associated with this profile (contacts, notes, history) will be deleted from the device, but will remain in the cloud.

Working with Mi Account and Xiaomi Cloud
