How to find out the Xiaomi phone model: official and hidden methods

Introduction

You just bought a Xiaomi smartphone, but you're not sure what model it has, or you want to sell it, but you don't remember its exact name, and you might need to download the firmware, but you don't know which version is the right one, and anyway, determining the model is the first step to solving most of the problems with the phone.

1. View on the box or documentation

The most obvious, but often ignored, way to look at the original package is to see the model on the box of any Xiaomi smartphone, and in several places:

• 📦 On the front side – usually in large font (for example, Redmi Note 11 Pro) 5G).
• 🏷️ On the side or bottom of the sticker, the serial number is also indicated (S/N) and IMEI.
• 📄 In the documentation - in the instruction manual or warranty card.

If the box is not saved, check check checks or confirmation emails (e.g. from AliExpress, Wildberries or the official Mi Store) that also indicate the model.

2. Sticker under the lid or on SIM-tray

6. Special Android apps

If standard methods do not help, install one of the diagnostic applications:

• 📱 CPU-Z — It shows the model, the processor, the memory and other features. Download it to Google Play.
• 🔍 AIDA64 — more detailed information, including sensors and sensors.

8 How to distinguish the original from the fake model

Fake Xiaomi smartphones often copy the design, but have different models.

• 🔍 Compare the model on the box and the settings. If they don't match, it's a fake.
• 🌐 Check it out. IMEI If the service says "Device not found", the device is not original.
• 📦 Xiaomi’s original models have a code format: 2 letters + 6 numbers + 1 letter (e.g, M2004J7AC). Counterfeiters often use random sets.

Typical signs of forgery:

• The model starts with the MTK (such as the MTK6580) – a cheap copy processor.
• Android Go is displayed in the settings, although the original Xiaomi does not use it.
